Hey sir, I'm glad you enjoy the FTB videos. If you are ever in the Chicago/Champaign- urbana area we would be more than happy to hang out with you, and put you up for the nights. Props on osis ducking clip> bsos. Getting a good set out of osis is tough. Some advice on osis (and every other move for that matter) would be to work it from every set (Clipper set, toe set, opposite toe set, osis>opposite osis, osis> far same osis, osis with a plant osis without etc...).

Anyway keep it up. I'll be watching.

Thanks everyone.

Had a session for the first time in a week and a half. Work has been kicking my ass big time.

 Drifter BSOS unsealed in a run with eggbeater and flip ducking butterfly
 Spinning Ducking clipper, confirmed clean (not new)
 Flip PDX DLO > run
 Merlin :!: new :!:

Cut short by work bullshit calling me on my cell phone. Got some days off next week, hoping to have some sessions then.

Thanks Reid :)

Bought a bike a few days ago. Did my first ride to and from a session today. It's about 30-35 minute ride each way. Great warmup but when I got home after having a session and biking each way I was riggity-rocked.

Highlights
 Zulu PDX mirage BS, new on both sides :!: hit within 2 tries each side
 Flip Weaving legover and flip weaving mirage :P both new
 Ducking clip > ss clip > rpt 16 contacts
 19 infinties, need to do these every session
 Drifter and whirl in the same run with ducking clipper BSOS in the seal, easily 20 contacts
 Weave > Duck > Weave
 Dive > Gyro BS, close to getting the drill
 Spin > Duck > RPT > pdx mirage for teh seal!

Cody hit some great runs too, including lots of contacts of rubberman, lots of pixie, lots of spinning, a flurry and 2 enterrages.

Still playing when I can.

Decent session tonight with Cody 7/16/08

 Several ~20 guiltless runs, mostly BOP
 SS Butter > Infinity > Spinning clip > PDX mirage > RPT > run twice
 Dimwalk > Ducking Butterfly midrun totally randomly.
 Spinning Clipper > Spinning Osis BSOS (unsealed)
 Ducking Clipper x 6 (PR) > sealed with a few more contacts
 Drifter BSOS, not new but yay

Slapdown, Ducking PDX mirage and Spinning PDX mirage are easy 4's for me now

Body feels good.

Tentative dates set for Texas Statewides Oct 11th-12th more info coming very soon.

I was in the newspaper for footbag
. I need to scan the article and post it.

Disappointed that I missed US Open and will miss worlds too. I really would love a big jam or tourney to get my footbag motivation back. That may have to wait until October.

Hope you are all doing well. Modified is boring but y'all are cool people. I don't like talking about footbag online or watching videos that much anymore. I just like to play.

It's time for an update

Texas States tournament in October announced!
http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=19111

Been playing a fair amount of solo which has actually been really good. It's a great escape from the stress of life.

I've been shredding guiltless lately. I don't think I *AM* guiltless, not that I care that much, I just want to work on linking 3s. I've gotten sick of bailing to pickup/mirage/legover all the time, and wanted to challenge myself to bail less. That being said I'm not hitting very many 2's or 4's. It's been a fun challenge to play this way.

Stuff I've been hitting lately:
 Lots of ~20 contact guiltless runs, mostly BOP but with dexless/DLOs/eggs thrown in
 Some ~30 contact BOP runs
 SS Butter > Spinning Clip > DLO > RPT >> SS Butter > Diving Clip > DLO > RPT
 Diving Clip > Gyro Clip > Diving Clip > drop on gyro clip attempt both sides, so close to this drill
 Stepping clip BSOS in some guiltless runs
 Spinning Clip x 2 > PDX Illusion BSOS in a guiltless run
 Dive > infinity > RPT > Spin > Infinity > RPT > Ripwalk x 2> run
 Drifter and whirl (strong side only) starting to appear in runs
 Butter > Ducking Clip >DLO > RPT
 SS Butter > Infinity > Spinning Clip > PDX Mirage > toe DLO > RPT

Hi Footblog!

Been playing pretty well lately last couple o' sessions. I haven't hit any new tricks in ages really, but my guiltless foundation is really coming along nicely. Enjoying footbag a lot.

Various highlights and cool shiz hit recently

From this weekend:
 Spinning Clip > Gyro Clip BSOS... I want the repeat!!

From last night:

 Zulu Clip B2B > run
 Spinning Clip > Ducking Clip > Spinning Clip > Ducking Butterfly > run
 Ripwalk > Ripwalk > run (probably not new)
 Spinning Ducking Clip BSOS!! on tape, you can be the judge of cleanliness later mmkay
 SS butter > Infinity > Osis x 3 > Infinity > PDX mirage > RPT
 SS butter > infinity > PDX mirage > eggbeater > RPT
 Flip Zulu PDX Mirage (1st try) > run ... not sure if I've hit that on flip yet or not, it was pretty nice to get it first try
 SS Butter > Diving Mirage > RPT a few times, drill is getting easier
 Ripwalk > drifter > run > drop on flip drifter

Plus probably more stuff I can't remember. It was a good night!

Dear Ben Benulis,

At this worlds, your presence was greatly missed. I'm going to make it out to some deep American Tournament later year to compensate for this,

In other news, you CAN hit spin-gyro*rpt, and the solution to the matter is just doing it. You can bsos the components, so just watch the bag hit your foot, wait a split second of complete still-time, and then set, imagine the bag an inch off your foot, and then twirl like a school-girl, and then get the clipper that you know you can do. Get this in video, please, this drill is so fundamental I'd love to see you hit it for the first time.

Thanks Jay. I'm sad I didn't make any tournaments this summer too. We sure did have a heck of a great time at Worlds 07. I will certainly never forget that, buddy.

I need to actually take a session to school flip gyro. I hadn't done strong gyro mirage in a while, but found it was very easy today. I've fixed my flip clipper form quite a bit, but under pressure mid string I revert to the shitty way a lot. From there flip spins/gyro are much harder than they should be.

Played a lot this week, again :) Thursday Greg was in town from Corpus. He is making great progress every time I see him. He can now hit whirls both sides with really really good form. I am jealous. He can also hit blender, almost BS.

Stuff I hit this week:
 Ducking Butter x 2 > run with diving butter and osis > flip DLO in the seal, all for about 25 contacts, GUILTLESS.
 Butter > Blur > RPT 10 contacts, starting on flip
 SS Butter > Diving Mirage > RPT > run > SS Butter > Spinning PDX Mirage > RPT > bails
 Atom smasher and Legbeater, atomic still kinda leggy though
 Ripwalk > Ripwalk > run with DLO BSOS
 Drifter BSOS, although flip is still miserable
 Spinning PDX Illusion mid-run randomly, felt good
 Ducking xbd rake BSOS... FUN!
 Fooled around with Pixie, hit Smear, PLO and Dimwalk all both sides fairly easily. Also hit a crazy sloppy magellan. I think I'll start schooling this concept more.

Curtis came for a session on Wednesday. He hit his usual crazy 5's and 6's like Plasma and Superduperfly. Unreal.

Pretty good session today. Worked on guiltless fundamentals

-Butter > PDX Mirage > RPT 35 contacts
-SS Butter > Osis > PDX Mirage > RPT 18 contacts
-15 inifinites
-Butter > PDX Illusion > 14 contacts ("strong" side catching up to "flip").
-SS Butter > Infinity > Osis > Infinity > PDX Mirage > toe DLO > RPT :x

About halfway through the session I decided to work on rakes since my legs were getting sore.

-SS xbd Rake > Far xbd rake > RPT :P :P :D (took probably 30 tries but such good practice for rakes!)
-Butter > PDX Mirage > Far xbd Rake > RPT
-SS Butter > Osis > PDX Mirage > Far xbd rake > RPT :!: :!:
-Ducking xbd Rake BSOS :P 8)

That was a lot of fun. In just one session I got considerably better at them. Especially flipside. I think I'm going to keep drilling them and get them to the point where I can hit a lot of them mid run. I think they make a really nice guiltless bail. Plus it will be fun to be able to hit ducking and spinning versions regularly mid run.

Hello footblog! It's time for an update.

Haven't been playing all too much, been busy with life and trying to put together something that will look like a footbag tournament here...

Well you'll never guess who showed up to a session today...

Kyle "Kung Fu" Crawford (BAP '98 ). I'm serious. I never thought it would happen in a million years. When I first started on footbag.org 3+ years ago I would email him once a month begging him to come to play footbag with me (before I could even clipper stall) but the consensus was that the guy had disappeared. Well he showed up and shook the rust off. Hopefully he'll make it to one day of the tournament next week.

I played pretty darn well for not having kicked in over a week. Hit a couple torques which was cool and came darn close to flip atomic and flip whirl. I hit atomsmasher first and only try into a run. Eggbeaters and DLOs were feeling on, hit quite a few including a strong PDX DLO.

Biggest highlight:
-Footed Spinning Ducking PDX Mirage BSOS. If you have a good memory I hit this horrendously crowny on the online comps a while back, but since then I've cleaned up the concept a bunch. Both spinning ducks felt good and were verified clean by Cody. Hit it first on flipside, did a few bails and hucked strong side, it landed on my toe but just could not hang on to it :x

Ordered some Quantum 3's on Monday. W00h00! Down to about 1mm of sole on the toes of my Q2s. :o :o

Texas tournament in 10 days. Hope everyone who said they're gonna come is showin' up! YEEHAW!

Update time!

Well Texas states was a blast. Thanks to everyone who made it out. Especially Outsider for coming all the way from NJ. I did a small write up, plus results and shiz here:
http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=19111

New life has been breathed into my footbag game because:
 I got a new pair of Black Q3s. whatwhat! These things are the shizNITE!
 I got some patching tape and am in process on fixing some of choice bags that were put on the bench because of single holes.
 The tournament was tons of fun and very inspiring. I played really well, and for the first time DIDN'T choke in competition (even though I wasn't really competing except in circle).

Had a session with Cody last night. It was good. He is getting pretty darn consistent these days. He had to leave early, so I played solo for another hour or so.

Highlights:
 Spinning PDX Mirage and Ducking PDX Mirage BSOS in the same guiltless run
 PLO > PLO > run. Never hit that before
 Flip paste and flip smudge. New
 Near DLO and bubbabeater BSOS in the same run 8)
 Dive > Duck > RPT > run with DLO BSOS
 Zulu Butter > Zulu Butter  hand catch

Then I decided I was going to school whirls, since I've never hit one flipside and strongside is sketchy. I told myself "OK I'm going to attempt 20 on each side, and I'm not going to stop until I've tried 20 on each side. I'll start on flip". Toss to toe> set to clipper > flip whirl on first attempt > hand catch. I was stunned. It was so easy. After spending a good while doing various celebratory moves (front handspring, jumping off stuff etc.) I attempted it again, but in 19 other tries could not hit it again. Strong whirl got more consistent, I need to stay over the bag more, that makes it much easier. I almost came crazy close to strong PDX and toe whirls.

Pixie and DLOs were really on this session. I need to keep a mental note to school those some more to get them consistent. Who knows maybe I'll hit a triple dex one of these days.

 Triple-BSOSed PLO in a run
 Butter > Ducking PDX mirage rpt for 9 contacts
