Shoes and grip ...

What is modified's opinion on the grippyness of shoes. I tried out tom mosher's climacools last night and the clipper area did have more grip. He also mentioned that Vasek was playing at worlds in some reverse moded lavers.

Do the mesh rod lavers provide enough grip or is reverse modding the best way to go? Thoughts? What about putting down some 1200 grit sandpaper on the inside of the shoe :p

Grip seems fine to me, I never have slideage, if I miss a clipper its because the bag rolled.

Vasek also won 3 world championships with regularly modded lavers, so I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

Does reverse moding mean you cut out the mesh layer, cause that way is way better

I reverse modded my leather lavers and the material that was exposed broke down very quickly. I prefer the entire smoothe surface of the normal mod. Just compensate with good form

Stop acting like you know everything. There is more than one way to do many things, it all comes down to preference.

The canvas is grippier, yeah, it's also thick, and it's a cloth, thus making it prone to wear thin and tear. The mesh, despite its slippery quality, is way way way thinner, and also way way way stronger, because it's nylon. It's not going to wear thin in places (unless you, like, sand it or something) or tear, unless you actually cut it with something. The mesh also doesn't look tacky as shit, because you can't see the modification.

It just comes down to what's more important to you, there's no right answer, and there's no "no question about it."

edit: But if you have good form, the "slipperiness" of the mesh shouldn't matter at all.

I've never even seen leather lavers, so I don't know about them, but with mesh definately reverse it

edit: I mean if you want grip, then you should reverse mod the mesh lavers

Would more grip possibly effect spins? It would seem you dont want TOO much grip.

I find that grip helps give you the ability to choose the direction in which the footbag goes after the set. When I tried spins without grip I would often not set the bag high enough because it would slip off as I was setting it and beginning the spin, with grip however the bag will stay until I want it to leave.
