Abshire Mini, and others of that size. [Favorite Bags.]

Post by Chema »

I just got to shred an abshire mini for the first time, they're so small it's amazing. Who else stitches bags that small? Does anyone have any pics of abshire mini sized bags?

Anyway they're like the coolest bag I've ever seen!

What are some of your favorite bags? Try to post pics.

Abshire minis can be OK, but I'm sorry to say I've also seen a lot of Abshires with misshaped and / or inconsistently-sized panels, and a lot of them just don't seem to play well to me. It is my personal opinion that there are a LOT of bags out there that are preferential to Abshires. I far prefer footbags by Lonn Irish, Charles Dupuy, Sorbat of Footfighter, and Ilja Mitrofanov.

After playing at Worlds with bags by EVERYONE, I feel that Ilja's are the BEST out there. They're instantly identifiable by their perfect, consistent stitching and incredible feel while you're playing with them. I saw some comparably beautiful and amazing footbags by Mads Neuhard of Copenhagen, although he doesn't put as many out there as Ilja, as far as I know.

I don't mean to talk smack, I just thought I'd give a more experienced opinion so you guys can get the full scope of thoughts on this kind of footbag. There's LOTS of stitchers out there, and just because one of them has been around longer than almost any of the others and has a website doesn't necessarily mean that they're the best.

Abshires are still pretty good, but just remember, you have a LOT of options.

I'm perfectly happy with my newset abshire mini. Its been my experience that as long as the sticher is competent and experienced, its THE BAG much more than the sticher. IE the same sticher makes 7 good 2 ok and 1 bad bag out of every 10. Its easy to think the sticher is wack if you are unlucky enough to get that 10th one, but its just not true. I've heard smack talked about every sticher in the books, but I've also enjoyed bags from those same stichers.
Though I've yet to hear anything negitive about ilja, maybe he is a semi-god??

Aaron is bringing me 3 abshires over labor day weekend! Oh how I love abshire bags, but I sure wish my sweet and lovely lonn bag would have held up forever.

Honestly if a bag is sewed together in a good way then it is up to you to turn it into a good bag by breaking it in properly. Enough love and your facile bag will be the shit. I prefer heavier bags so I add a little extra after break-in.
