Similar topic to Jeremy, but im getting increasingly worried about attakcs, especially on Melbourne because Australia has never been attacked before.
What are you guys opinion on this?

I am fairly confident that unless there are significant changes to Australia's foreign policy we will definitely be attacked at some stage on our soil. Most likely either Melbourne or Sydney. I am equally confident that the US will be attacked again. Clearly our current "war on terror" is doing nothing in lowing the amounts of terrorists or people who sympathise with their cause and it seems inevitable that Australia will become a target eventually. Especially being next to the biggest Muslim country in the world - which already has a strong terrorist network.
The fact that Australia is small population wise and fairly globally insignificant obviously helps keep us safe but that won't last forever. We are certianly the most accessible target in our region.

I don`t think your foreign policy has anything to do with it. Well, the scary thing is that the next Australian footbag championships is happening pretty close in location and time, to the next Commonwealth games.
Now, although I don't think we've much to worry about personally (I doubt anyone's going to target the finals in the hope of making a global statement), it's still a little bit un-nerving to think that something might happen when I'm there.
But, at the same time, we had CHOGUM (sp?) - the meeting of commonwealth nations (I think) in Brisbane not long after Sept 11, and nothing happened.
Still, I'll be in Melbourne next year.
We gotta die sometime, and if it's while I'm playing footbag... well, so be it.
(I'll just have to hit Mullet and ripwalk BTB before then... just in case
)
