alternating: toe stalls

Post by Nitrox »

(as requested by Matt Cross)

I'm having trouble getting the rhythm down with toe stalls. I can go back and forth between toe stalls for dozens at a time, but there's a slight pause in between. I see the way my friend does it...he sorta bounces off his setting foot right after the set, but I can't see to get it down. Any tips for that?

Josh,

practice bouncing from one foot to the other with tiny little jumps, just like you see your friend doing.

Then practice doing a tiny toe set, and switch which foot is planted so the other foot is in the air right under the bag, ready for the catch. it will take a little practice, but conceptually, it's really straightforward.

Try alternating toe stalls without letting your heels hit the ground. You'll get bouncy in no time.

When you are about to stall it, make sure that your support leg raises and falls a little bit on its toes.
