Hey, I'm 18 years old from McMurray, Pennsylvania.(25 minutes from Pittsburgh) I have been circle "hacking" for about 8 years for fun. Then last January, my friend wanted to start a "hacking" team where we see what our highest consecutive kicks can be. Well we reached 834 in May, and we got our own jerseys and our team name was Hakk Pakk. After that, we saw a kid doing a few moves like around the world and butterfly at our rec center and we were amazed. Well we seached and found out all these tricks and got addicted to freestyle. After a month, we both got rod lavers and shredded alot. My friend was always better than me, always hitting a new move before me, making me want to practice even more and try to be better than him. He was my inspiration to shred. After a month of freestyle, we sort of lost interest because it was June and summer time. And my friend went away to college and had no interest in footbag even though he was doing so good.
Now its September and as a senior in high school, I have no homework and have some much free time. My dad wouldnt let me get a job because he wanted me to practice my guitar and piano to audition for Duquesne Music like my other 3 brothers, but I blew that off. Now its near December and I barely hit the bag. My dad decides to get a foreign exchange student from Ukraine(hes actually Russian but lives in Ukraine). This was out of the blue.... I dont like the kid one bit. So instead of teaching him about America, I go in my basement and shred for about 2 hours a day. He's on the computer alot so I have nothing else to do but go downstairs and footbag. I guess he's sort of inspiring me to shred cause I dont like him. But if I go pro in a few years, I'll have to call him up and tell him thanks. But hes not leaving til June.... grrr. I hope to go to a media school and take film production and get a degree in that and hopefully, just hopefullly I can move to the West and video tape some pros and make videos for them. That would be ammazing. Well thats my long history of myself

Now a summary of my shred session.
-Shredded for 1hr 30 min
-Landed the usual(mirage, legover, butterfly)
-I finally am getting down osis', they are getting easier everyday
-I just couldnt land a double leg over, I tried so much but a few times it rolled off my toe but most of the time I missed it by like 1/10 of a sec.
-The past week I am working on my flipside clippers alot, because they seem reallly important. And I can almost get down clippers back and forth from left foot to right foot, but I have improved alot the past few days.
-I hope to be most consistent and connect more moves together
-I am debating on whether to get a Footfighter. I am using a mr sandbag now. I have the money but I just am not sure.

Thats all for today

Shred session: 1 hour.... due to tiredness from yesterdays session, sore shin splints, and the weather. It's 60 degrees and its January. I havent had a break from bagging in over a week and I need one, and I think tomorrow will be my day off because its Friday and I'll be going out after I'm done with school and will have no time.
I finally landed a double legover, which was exciting for me. After I finished, I went outside and jump roped, hoping to improve my hopping.

Shred Session: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
I just worked on the usual tricks, I'm trying to get better with my flipsides of butterflies and clippers.
I want to learn to do a double around the world, I'm pretty close to landing the trick.
I felt pretty good about myself, I wasnt too tired or sore at all. I am getting a little sick of shredding by myself though. I have friends who bag, but they are just starting out and learning inside stalls and I want to shred with a more advanced player, so I can learn new moves. I hope this summer, I can make it to a tournament to experience first hand of competiions. I am going to order my footfighter bag tonight, I thought you can order over the phone but I guess not. I need to get used to a 32 panel bag and be done with Mr. Sandbags.

At school, I drink about 6 bottles of water, to keep me hydrated for when I play.... I piss allllot. Seems to work, I dont get tired as easily, maybe its the water, or maybe its because I dont eat meat.... who knows

I was going to take a day off, but then I was in the mood so I bagged for about 40 minutes. I was mostly working on the double legover which everyday I am getting better at. I would like to learn to do a butterfly to the opposite butterfly, but its hard hopping. I might shred tonight, depends on how much I drink and what time I come home, because I wont shred tomorrow for sure because of the STEEEELERS game. So maybe tonight I'll try for at least 30 minutes. I don't know if I should try and attempt a whirl, because it seems very frustrating and I might not be at that level yet. I'm gonna try to do a paradox mirage once I get my weakside clipper to stall better. I hope the man at flipsider got my order for my footfighter, because I heard he moved and might not be at the computer to process everything.

I shredded again at midnight for 30 minutes, but my body is so worn down, I def need a day off. And tomorrow for sure I am calling it a day off, because of the STEELER game. My body is just died out, like I have no energy, I have bagged for like 10 days straight. Hopefully after my break, I will be better and have more energy and do tricks quicker.

Ahhhh, I feel alot better after a 2 day rest. I'm still a little shaken up after the big Steeler game win. Well my right shin hurts reallll bad now, and I am icing it alot. I had a nice session today for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I have no idea what new tricks I should learn, I'm doing osis' real good and doing double legovers alot better. I mainly practiced my butterflies, hoping to improve them over the next week. I hope the people at flipsider got my order for my footfighter!

Today was a good day, bagged for about 1 hour and 25 minutes. I would longer, but my dad thinks "hacky sack" is a waste of time, so I have to bag before he gets home from work. Not much to say.

Oh crap, I have a sore throat and I am weak and I wish I could bag. It'll give my shins a day off and rest my body. I guess I'll watch some vids

Holy cowza.... I shredded for 2 fucking hours. It seems everytime I bag, the first hour is hell, like I am not in the mood. But then after an hour, I go crazy and dont stop. I landed a paradox mirage on both sides, and landed alllot of double legovers.

Today I was a little sore from yesterdays big runs. After warming up, I tried to video tape myself to see how I look, and I could barely land any combos. It was a frustrating day, but I landed a cross body rake, I think?!? I'm not sure if I did it right. Still worried about my footfighter.

You should definitely try & tape yourself. Makes it easier to point out what you're doing wrong (and right :) ). It took me a while to get used to shredding in front of a camera. First you drop everything, but eventually the camera can become inspiring.

Also soreness is something that evens out in the end. During my first months of being seriously into footbag I was always injured. At one point I could hardly walk. Over the last year, however, I haven't hurt myself once. Footbag is just an unnatural occupation your body has to get used to I guess.

Anyway, good luck with baggin' and the Russian/Ukranian guest!

I decided that I wont bag tomorrow since its the huge STEELER game, so I bagged a little tonight, but not too much, about 30 minutes. I cant take showers at like midnight cause i dont want to wake up my rents. So I did all my moves but not into combos. I'm trying to learn the whirl but its such a weird/hard trick. I need to study that trick. Well lets go steelers!!

I got my footfighter today in the mail, took about 10 days, which is pretty good!!! The downside is, I had a rough night last night. After the Steelers won, I decided to take a few shots of whiskey. By 10 oclock, I had 8 shots, within an hour, and remember, I weigh only 130ish pounds. So I went to bed around 10:30 and at 3:30, I woke up all sick with a stomach ache and a headache. I never fell back to sleep. I went to school so I could take a final which I cheat off the girl next to me. I could have stayed home. So now, I have been up for about 13 hours and theres still like 6 more hours til my usual bedtime. And I'm a little better than this morning but still a little sick. So I cant bag today with my new footfighter:( But tomorrow for sure!!!

Bagged:1 hour and 30 minutes
Trick trying to learn: whirl.... I allllmost got it, I'm still getting used to the concept.
Today was the first day I used my footfighter, and I love it, even though its not broken in, and rolls off my feet. I'm sure it'll be amazing when broken in.

Hey Dan - i've just discovered your blog and i wondered, if you could post
any runs or drills that you do, so that your readers get a better and more
complete idea of your game and where you at, at the moment !

Keep shredding and read Jordens whirl tips - they helped me a great deal !
So did Stefan Siegerts advice just to practice the dexing motion, without
even thinking about the final clipper : Like so i found out how i can dex deeply and comfortably ( i need a fast feet-switch ) and adding the last
delay was easy afterall.

I know Daryl, right now I am just working on solo tricks and not into a run. But I can do a double legover to a butterfly now.
Today i bagged for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Still working on a whirl, and getting the hopping part. I'm trying to get both sides of the paradox mirage down. And I'm trying to do osis' from a clipper set and not from a toe stall

Today, I was figuring out what music to put on my vid I am making. It's only going to be like 30 secs long, just a preview of my shit. So tonight I only bagged for like 35 minutes because my shin was hurting real bad and its late and I'm tired from school. But I ALMOST got the double around the world, i just skim the bag. Tomorrow is a day off, because daddio is home from work and he thinks "hacky sack" is a waste of time and same with skateboarding.

WOW big news..... first off my dad kicked the exchange student out of our house, because he didnt fit in. 2nd... I missed 3 days because my dad was home from work and didnt have time to bag(my dad hates footbag and thinks its a waste of time) and 3rd I met a kid on this site who lives 30 minutes away from me and he invited me and to shred with him this weekend, so hopefully I dont pussy out and I go

Anyways I shredded for about an hour and 40 minutes. I didnt do too good, I guess I got rusty. My footfigher has broken in pretty good. Still having trouble on the whirl, hopefully the guys can give me tips up close.
