i will try my best seeing as i am only coming to grips with it myself.
ok you receive an add if you do something like a delay ([del]), spin, dexing the bag and a few other things
for example a simple toe stall is a 1 add because there is only one part of the trick, the delay.
where as a butterfly is a 3 add because it is in the air, delay and you dex the bag with the supporting leg, thus a 3 add
hope i have helped and not confused
matt,

I know just starting a topic is easy, but I'm sure you knew that you could have found it out easily by yourself:

it means you're subscribing to a system that is going to make you think that doing a LOT of blurry whirls is good.ThisIsFate wrote:What is add 1,2,3,4,5....mean?

They are "adds". They tell you how much "adds" a single tricks gets.
Adds DO NOT equal difficulty (the First Footbag Rule, lol)!
Every single trick is made of components. It's like a cake, which is made from many ingredients. The bigger the cake, the more complicated the process of making it.
So adds are avarded for the components. If you do a Toe Delay, you get 1 Add. If you do a Mirage, you get 2 Adds and so on...
Different components are:
1. Delay (you delay the bag on your foot)
2. Dexterity (you circle around the bag with your leg)
3. Cross-body (you contact the bag with one leg "tucked" behind another - Clipper)
4. Body (Symposium, Spinning/Inspinning, Ducking/Diving)
5. Paradox (don't ask
)
6. X-Dex (this one is not official)
So Butterfly is 3 Adds, because it is made from 3 components (Dexterity, Crossbody and Delay).

Don't forget [UNS] unusual surface ADD. You get this Add when you use any surface of the body besides the toes, insteps, outsteps and knees.Faco wrote: Different components are:
