now, I'm sure theres a topic on this already, but I thought I'd just start a new one anyway.

I just started a couple days ago, but I want to get to the point where I can preform.

Who else does it? any tips?

Download lots of MP3's of beatboxing - there is a ton out there. Search the web for beatbox websites, they have free tutorials and such to explain different noises and techniques. It's all about getting nice crisp clean sounds with the right breath / tongue / lip / etc. technique. It's like anything else - study it - practice it > rpt.

when you don't have a lot of experience in it. It's pretty easy to pick up basics, but it's really difficult for myself to incorporate a lot of variations, odd time variations, and just overall creativity to make different beats stand out.

Initially, you think of all sounds as exhalation sounds, but learning good inhalation sounds is key to keeping a great constant flow. Start your beats nice and slow to where you get good sound, increase the tempo until you can control it for extend amounts of time with good quality. Keep increasing tempo to build speed control.

I beat box, i do it all the time, whenever im not talking or having to be quiet. I started at www.humanbeatbox.com, they teach you all the different sounds you can make.

Drum and bass is my favorite.

i developed a way that i can beatbox using only 2 or 3 letter words, and i make some cool beats out of it. Its great cuz when we smoke a blunt we usually start making beats halfway thru it being done, and the beats that i make freak out my friends
