Last week I was told one of the wierdest things I have ever heard. This person said that he was told footbag/hacky sack started during WW2 with the Nazis.
He said he heard that the Nazi's took the testicles of Jewish males and used them as footbags and that's how our sport (or hacky sack) began. I quickly informed him how footbag actually began, but I was wondering if anyone else has heard this?
This kind of rumor cannot be a good thing for our sport....
i know that there is a polish game, there they take what evry they can find, paper, string, bits of fabric, turn it into a ball and then used their feet to keep it off the ground and theyn were doing that during WWII. maybe one of our polish board members can help us out with that...
footbag started alongtime ago when people of poland would get bored from sitting and waiting to go into polish night clubs and they had perogis with them and kielbasa and shinka so they were bored and started kicking the perogi around
Footbag was created in the 19th century by a mountain climber named Hans.
Hans was a big ladiesman and travelled many times over the Alps from Germany to Switzerland.
To keep his body warm, Hans started to kick testicles of a mountaingoat.
Later on this sport was refined to what we now know as Footbag.

He has played footbag for over ten years now, so I believe him.

Back then everyone had to cobble and create everything they used, so they had some pretty nifty shred shoes. They made the footbags from sheepskin and filled them with tiny gold pellets mixed with sand...
