Whirl Jobs Notation

Post by Lackey82 »

I know that whirl is SET > OP IN [DEX] > OP CLIP [XBD] [DEL]

My question is: Why is the dex marked in to out?

From a clipper set, or any set i guess, it feels like the dexing leg is going from out to in over the bag, since the leg comes back at you over it. Maybe crossbody changes it?

Explanation please. Greenwood tried to explain it to me once but I didn't understand.

"in" and "out" in job's notation refer to the relative direction the leg goes in relation to the bag and your body. When a dex is "in to out" or abbreviated as "in" that means that your leg goes to the inside of the bag (relative to you) and then to the outside.

In the example of whirl the bag is already to the outside of your leg and your leg comes up on the inside of the bag ie. between your body and the bag - and the goes to the outside (so the bag is between you and your body).

So basically an in to out dex is when the dex starts with the position of footbag - leg - body as opposed to an out to in dex starts with leg - footbag - body.

I hope that makes sense.
