I read a bit about up and downtime in the 'Illusions' thread but would like to know more.
I'm still working on my basic 2-ADD moves and am thinking I may be doing them incorrectly. I've been working on mirages, illusions and ATWs and doing the DEX right away, while the bag is traveling up. This gives me plenty of time to do the motions and catch the bag. But...
Is this bad form?
It never occurred to me that these moves should be done on the way down to make time for SET moves (which I plan to add to my repitoire as soon as humanly possible).
This stuff may be painfully obvious to you guys, but could someone tell me if I'm finally starting to get it?

Don't worry. It's not painfully obvious.
It's a style preference. You can do the moves uptime or downtime -- it's totally up to you. If you do illusions uptime then you may have a strong atomic set when you get there, but at the same time you may have trouble with downtime illusions, in say, blizzard (blurry illusion). It totally doesn't matter, because they are both two aspects of the move you will probably end up learning eventually anyway.
Be unique. Do what comes naturally. Do what's fun.
