any closet minesweeper fans here? anyone care to post your top scores, maybe get back into it? i used to play for hours...and im just getting back into it today. so far=
beginner= 18 seconds
intermediate= 76 seconds
and im working on expert

yeah, i just got 10 seconds for beginner. expert is still pissing me off. i got down to 14 bombs and just got unlucky.

i hate how eventually (depending on the difficulty) you WILL absolutely have to guess, and cant reason out which it is. in expert you have to do that like 10 times.

My best times are 9 seconds begginer, 43 seconds intermediate and 136 expert. The last difficulty level is so damn hard I thought it was impossible to beat for a long time

There is actually a website with Worlds Records in Minesweeper and the level is pretty amazing - you can even download videos and see how crazy fast those guys are. It's funny how this kind of simple game can get so addictive

bah! screw this stupid game

it makes no sense...once you get to a certain point, its ALWAYS decided completely by luck. and i ALWAYS guess wrong.

My friend and I played competitively for a while. My best time on a beginner was about 6 seconds. Her best time was like 3 seconds because she clicked like 4 times and the board cleared up almost instantly (lucky).

I used to play quite a bit of minesweeper, but chronic hand troubles have kept me from playing for some time. Minesweeper is an interesting game, a fast paced logical workout. I only ever played the expert board, mostly by habit I guess.

FYI, Peter is mistaken. The game does sometimes comes to a guess, but not always, and not nearly as often as beginning players tend to think. Besides, this game is more about the progression through the board than the end result. We all play footbag even though we'll eventually drop it.

Edit: So everyone knows, clicking both mouse buttons on a number that is already touching that many bombs will clear all the remaining squares touching that number. Faster than clicking each individually. Also, you should disable the question marks, as they don't serve any purpose.

im not a beginner player. i never ever make stupid mistakes, and only guess when im positive its necessary, and apparently i have bad luck, because on intermediate it comes to guessing about 5 times on average, and about 10 times on expert, because the bombs are more condensed.

in fact, i will test my theory and play as slowly as necessary, not going for any time at all, just to prove that it comes to guessing at least 5-10 times on expert.

edit-ok, so far i have 67 mines left, and it is absolutely necessary to either make an educated guess at one of the border tiles, or a completely random guess in the untouched expanse.
there was a 1 and a 3 next to two unknown tiles, meaning one was a bomb and one was, as both were touching both unknown tiles, and the three was already touching two correctly marked tiles. i guessed wrong and lost. please, enlighten me to what i should have done differently, anyone at all.

Beginner - 5 seconds
Intermediate - 34 (I think)
Expert - 139

I don't play it anymore, but I used to play while downloading footbag vids on dial up all the time. I downloaded a lot of vids...

I think my intermediate time places me in the top 100 in the world, the other two are way off. You need 2 seconds or under to get a beginner record and under 100 seconds for expert.

I used to play a lot too. I just had a game now before work.. got 151 on expert. Not my best score by a stretch; Anything under two minutes on expert I consider good. Oh and you'll also notice if you watch the "best times" videos that using the middle mouse button can be very valuable. I still have a hard time using it though.

I've been lucky enough to get one of the rare 1 click Beginner Minesweeper solutions.

My best intermediate time was ~60ish seconds. I only marked that which I was confused about because I can't move my hands that fast...Plus, it's a better mental workout if you don't mark.

Expert? I think I've done it in under 4 minutes before. Expert is really annoying because even if you know the patterns, you have no choice but to guess on a few occasions.

My beginner record is also 7 seconds.

My intermediate is about 70
