lots of legal drug deals go on, you just gotta watch american tv for 30 seconds to see four hundred drug ads haha.
And sugar wtf, that should be considered a drug. Coca Cola is making a killing of selling liquid sugar cuz the whole cocaine thing didnt fly.
But as far as prohibition is concerned, who knows, i used to believe no drug should be controlled but now I think that's not responsable knowing some of the drugs out there, that said it's a matter of a drug by drug basis i guess.. But then everything can be argued..
off topic sorta: ever seen Layer Cake? they have an awesome intro about cocaine sales and the only reason it's illegal is because the government doesn't know how much money they can make off it yet haha.

try getting "the fuck" out of ur house while you're sober and go do something, maybe the frustration will wear off with some fresher air and a walk. What's wrong with coffee anyhow? A guy like u certainly doesn't require drugs to ruin his life.. So I'm in agreement with Ben, u just posted this to start a "flamewar."

what are you talking about? i wanted to discuss drugs and how some are legal and others aren't, while all are habit forming. Then, you guys start talking about nonsense, so I think I have a right to be pissed. you would to if your thread got hijacked. How in any way did i post this to start a flamewar? where in my original post do you get that opinion?try getting "the fuck" out of ur house while you're sober and go do something, maybe the frustration will wear off with some fresher air and a walk. And why are you telling me to get out of my house for a walk? It's 9 oclock out and I'm tired. How does me leaving my house for a walk enter in to this conversation, except for you being bitter and wanting to insult me in a very petty manner.
And whats wrong with coffee? I'm glad you should ask, because it actually goes back to the nature of this fucking topic, and not you idiots trying to ruin my thread. If you're not going to debate the topic and just want to post nonsense, go the the kicking circle.

it was ur 2nd post, not ur original post - just because something upsets you it doesn't mean u HAVE to immediately act like an asshole. You could have been more polite - sorry, I didn't mean to derail your thread. Your original post didn't really include much information or well formulated thoughts/opinions..
If most currently illegal drugs were legalized they would become much cheaper for the consumer, and they would most likely become more widely and commonly abused. Coffee and fast food are viewed as food and are meant to be used for nourishment, even if they are somewhat unhealthy. Anyone can abuse food, but food is necessary to survive, whereas drugs that are illegal aren't at all necessary for living.

What do you have to back that up? Why would legality lead to increased abuse rates? If most currently illegal drugs were legalized they would become much cheaper for the consumer, and they would most likely become more widely and commonly abused.
Coffee is hardly necessary for living, and while food is necessary to survive, fast-food is doing more to kill people than to nourish life no matter how you look at it. In the same way that coffee has water in it, and thus in a sense is good for the body, fast-food also has nutrients in it, but is still harmful physically.Coffee and fast food are viewed as food and are meant to be used for nourishment, even if they are somewhat unhealthy. so long as drugs are illegal it wouldn't make much sense for drug dealing to be legal.
It's illegal because most (or more influential) people think drugs are bad and so politicians keep them illegal so they can keep their jobs.
It's funny that at one time alchohol was illegal in the united states and opium was sold by the British govenment. Now the tables have turned. Basically the people making the decisions will just make whatever rules they think will please enough people to keep their position.
Sorry that's a bit off topic.
I think selling, buying, using drugs should all be illegal and if i was president i'd make Mcdonalds illegal too, I know I wouldn't last long.

Is this a discussion about weather drugs should be legal or drug dealing should be legal. Does it include all drugs including things like heroine and crack?
Personally I think that there are drugs that are OK and drugs that are not OK. The ones that are bad being those that dealers use to hook their consumers to get a better profit.
If drugs were legal there would be a huge amount of money available for other beneficial things due to the amount of money saved from not having to enforce them being illegal as well as the taxes that could be collected on them.
Needless to say, I do not think that all drugs should be made legal. Some drugs are very harmful and do not help people get anywhere in life. Others can open your eyes and help illuminate what is really important. I have found that as long as everything is in balance its all good… but once that balance is disregarded things start to go wrong.
I am going to bed now, but I hope this thread turns into a serious discussion instead of the degressing into a flame battle.

I very much doubt drugs would be cheaper if legalized. From what I recall, and it's been a while, drugs in Holland / Switzerland are *roughly* as expensive as in non-legalized countries. And I very much doubt that coffee-shop owners have become over-night millionaires. The big winner in all this is the government who heavily taxes the sales.hackeysnacker wrote:

Yeah exactly.
I would support the legalisation and regularisation of all illicit drugs so long as they were strictly regularised and run completely by the government. I think that would certainly reduce the amount of crime associated with drugs and if the government continued to campaign against drug use like they do with nicotine I don't think many people would become addicts. I also think there would be a reduction in overdoses and other health problems - so not only would society benifit from the lower strain on the criminal and health systems but all the profits would go to the government instead of to criminals (although some people would argue that they are the same people

Re: Should drug dealing be illegal?
It seem to me (at least from your comparisons) like you assuming drugs are illegal because they are bad for you. If this is what you are assuming it would be incorrect.BainbridgeShred wrote:I don't think so. Not if huge fucking coffee's and Big Mac's are legal.
My personal belief is that all drugs should be legal but controlled substances. I am uncertain on my position on the legality of dealing various drugs.
