Le Coq Sportif?

I need a solid pair of freestyle shoes and I'd like to buy an alternative to lavers. I've been looking into g-units and these le coq shoes. Can anyone tell me how these shoes shred? I was browsing past topics looking for information and I came across these. I hadn't heard if they've been deemed viable for freestyle or not so i thought I'd ask. I read they were the closest thing to what kenny shults wore in the original tricks of the trade.

From what I read of people that've played in them, apparently they suck.

Is there a reason you want laver alternatives? Like, have you already gotten a pair of lavers and they're not for you?

The reason I ask is because I find that usually for whatever reason, people who are new to footbag (I mean like, friends that I'm trying to get into it) tend to avoid buying lavers and look instead for shoes that're shaped like lavers, but aren't actually lavers. I don't understand this. Lavers are cheap. Why buy a pair of shoes that're just as expensive when they're not as good? No idea.

Anywho, if you HAVEN'T gotten lavers yet, then just do it. If they're not for you, then so be it.

EDIT: I believe Xain on the board has a pair of Coqs. I say PM him if you want info or whatever.

Your probably right, I'm just mad I didn't have the willpower to resist the urge to buy these stupid stan smiths when I was at shoe carnival. Now I'm out of cash and stuck with crappy shoes.

That's rough man, and I don't mean to rub it in, but that's basically exactly what I'm talking about. The only thing that's even close to lavers are lavers. If it doesn't say 'Rod Laver' on the back, then don't spend money on it for your first shred shoe, for real.

and thats just a guess. I'd say even after modding, g-units or lavers would both be better choices, because the soles aren't so hot on the coqs.

I'd say go with lavers if it's your first real freestyle shoe. they are the simplest to mod.

Regardless of them being marketed as an athletic piece of equipment, even the guy selling on commission pronounced them as purely asthetic and for style-forewarning me against any athletic attempts in them
