Duncan Footbag Commercial
Duncan Footbag Commercial
Click here to see Ashley, Chris, Sam, and Emily play a little footbag.
This is the version that's on TV right now. I got an e-mail and a phone call today from two East Coast footbag players who were like "...did I see you on tv today?" The commercial ran during the world juggling competition. Neat.

I think the Spider is a fairly okay beginner bag. The bags could all be a lot better, but right now Duncan is working on improving all of the bags. They said that their goal is to produce a quality footbag. I feel good about promoting for them because they are interested in helping with the growth of the sport. It's neat, because since they're so into yo-yo's, the guys at Duncan understand the footbag world a lot better than just some faceless corporate guys would.

And the voice overs were done by other people.

I was wondering that too.
It didn't sound like their voices
The bags look really crappy, and my first impression was that it looked like bad publicity, but from the way you're talking about it it sounds like it could be a really good thing (especially regarding their involvement with yo-yo?)...
EDIT: Oh, I didn't see the post before where Emily said it wasn't their voices.

I know this has nothing to do with the actual subject here. But I saw the link for footbag.com and randomly went there and checked out a trick description. I dunno...maybe everyone else will get as much a kick out of it as I did:Lazytowner wrote:sen wrote:Or www.footbag.com will be... *shudders*BalinorNZ wrote: Man it is so good they called them footbags! www.footbag.org will be getting so many hits right now!

Catch the footbag with the inside of your foot like a pickup and toss the footbag in the air waist high. Plant the clipper leg quickly and perform a clipper behind your stalling leg and catch the footbag in your hand! Practice Makes Players
As far as the ad is concerned, it's actually a really neat ad if you ask me. I think it'll definitely appeal to kids, maybe even more than any of the ads that I've seen so far. And if duncan is gonna push to produce really solid products, then it's an even better thing. Way to go!!

So wait, How much did Duncan Yo-Yo's spend shooting this commercial?
I mean, How much did Duncan spend on flying the footbag players out and everything associated with that?
Pepsi did this in LA 3 years ago but never even aired the commercial in Japan like they had orinally planned.
Have Sam or Ashley received interesting phone calls in response to the commercial???

Im not sure how much Duncan used for it. But everyone was paid 200 bucks a day. There were 4 players and 2 actors. Also they paid all eating expenses. Originally planned, Sam wasn't going to come. But instead, I had them pay to fly him out there (about 400 dollars for the ticket) insead of paying me 400 dollars to do it. So I wasn't paid anything, I just had a free trip. (TOTALLY WORTH IT)
And neither of us have recieved a phone call yet about it, I'm wondering if it will be on around here and what channels. I dont really watch TV, so I wont know.
Like I said, it was a reall fun shoot. We went to a lot of places and I got to meet people Ive wanted to meet for a while. I cant wait to go back to California. I think I want to right after I graduate.
