Post by carl winslow »

For my advertising writing class, i have to come up with some print ads for any product.
It should have a visual and headline.
any ideas to get me started would be appreciated.

A cool design element is diagrams (I like seeing anatomy diagrams with all the muscles and bones mapped and labelled).

So, for example, for a 32 panel footbag, you could use some diagram-esque font and lines pointing out and breaking down the aspects of a bag (either its physical properties, or the reasons why one should buy it -- either could work, or maybe even both together...).

Simple and succinct is ideal. Something that I learned from my first year graphic design course was that EVERY SINGLE element you use in a design should have relevance to the message you are trying to portray. For example, the font type, colours used, photography/drawing style incorporated, symbols, logos, layout, spacing, etc -- EVERYTHING should come together to better present what it is you are trying to say through your design. I have tried to carry this through into everything that I do so that everything has purpose.
