Ok. It's been a while since I have been playing Footbag. I just recently exploded into advancments of my skills in the sport. Kinda crazy. However I forgot the meaning of alot of things.
Symposium. This is just the trick being done by jumping with the dexing foot and not letting the set foot touch the ground untill the trick is complete, right?
Paradox. From one side to the other? Like, left clipper to an op swirl? Would that just be clipper set paradox swirl? Would the job's be, clip>op in>clip? If that jobs is wrong, then here's the complicated version. I set witha clipper with my right foot. The bag comes in front of me, and I dex the bag, in to out with my RIGHT foot. And then catch the bag in a LEFT foot clipper. I'm thinking it's called clip>op in>clip, or would it be clip>op in>op clip, or would it be clip>in>op clip... lol. I'm confused, please help. And the Job's notation link doesn't help either, I don't understand how to decipher teh more complicated crap.
I'm gonna try something simple. Paradox mirage. Start from left clip. Clip>op in>op rake. Correct?
Or Double legover. Set from the left clip. clip>in>op out>rake. Correct?
If I'm doing this wrong, someone please help. If someone sees something specific that I might be getting confused with, please help, lol.
Thanks a SHIT TON.
Peace,
Fred.
Please correct me on this. I think I'm wrong...

Is that a metric shit ton?
That sounds right, but those tricks you named end in toe stalls not rakes.
And as for the symposium it doesn't matter which foot set the bag, all that matters is that the dexing foot was the last one to touch ground before the dex and the first to touch down afterwards.

Paradox is complicated to explain. It has to do with a double hip pivot, being clipper set, and the dex being with the same as the setting leg. An example is paradox mirage, which I'll assume you understand. In my opinion planting your setting leg negates paradox, as it changes the hip pivot, so paradox moves are generally plantless (like in paradox mirage). The dex isn't always necessarily the first dex immediately after the set, for example nuclear is a paradox illusion set, and shooting is a miraging paradox illusioning set, so it is still the illusion that is paradox, but it comes after the mirage dex. It's complicated, much more so than just "far-side component".
Symposium is dexing with the support leg (jumping off of the support leg without the setting leg touching the ground, in most cases). Symposium mirage is setting with the toe, not planting the setting leg, dexing with the opposite leg, and stalling on the setting foot that never touched the ground. A symp double legover is the exact same move but instead of a toe stall with the setting leg, it's a legover. It's still the mirage that is symposium. There are always exceptions and weird moves, like symposium blender where you stall the bag on the same as the dexing leg, but that is complicated to explain when first explaining the concept. (Likewise symp dlo could be symp on the legover instead of the mirage, and that can be confusing, however symp dlo is a commonly understood trick, and few people have probably hit symp dlo with the legover symp. Weird moves like this are usually denoted more specifically so you understand what is actually being spoken about. I'm kind of babbling now.)
They're both kind of complicated and always bend to exceptions.

Here's a simple explanation for Paradox with pdx mirage.
For clipper set mirage, you could theoretically dex with either leg. E.g. from right clipper do either of these theoretical moves:
1) CLIP > OP IN [DEX] > OP TOE [DEL]
2) CLIP > SAME IN [DEX] > OP TOE [DEL]
For #1 you are setting from right clipper, lifting the left leg over the bag to dex and catching it back again on the right toe.
For #2 you are setting from right clipper, and then your right leg has to come back to your right side and then snake back over the bag in the opposite direction and catch on the left toe.
So in #1 you are just lifting your left leg and catching. For #2 you are snaking your right leg in an "S" shape to be able to do the dex. Both are clipper set mirages and look almost identical, but one is much more difficult to execute, ergo the Paradox.
1) CLIP > OP IN [DEX] > OP TOE [DEL] MIRAGE
2) CLIP > SAME IN [PDX][DEX] > OP TOE [DEL] PARADOX MIRAGE
