Post by smokefree »

Hey yo, I was thinking of busting out the camera some time this week, and filming about 1 or 2 minutes of my shred practice to get some pointers. I cant do every trick every time so thats why i need a minute or two for them all, would anyone be willing to watch if i post it and tell me their thoughts? I just feel like i keep making horrible errors that need to be pointed out, or maybe im just paranoid.

this is all I have time to do edit and upload this afternoon, got class soon. Anyway basically its me doing beginers tricks and fucking up some others, i want people to point and say do this different. some toe stalls, atw, mirage, then i try a ducking pixie, then i try 2atw but drop. Then i dropped a couple clippers in my vans (just ordered lavers should be here today or tomorrow.) And then i attempted a swirl. Then i try to get a clipper, mentally i was gonna toss it over my neck but i cant make it do that.. backwards mirages, i cant do. then i attempt a very retarded swirl off a clipper i barely caught.

Anyway, its kinda hard for me to use mr sandbag in vans when im used to an empty floppy sandmaster that just sticks, but no excuses, im practicing more than i ever have, my toes are my only decent thing i think. Hopefully lavers wil help me. Also another trick i fucked up but didnt make it on here is hop over... i fell. Couldnt upload it because this fucking kodak camera sucks and im using windows after converting the file which only does half of the clip on this trial demo program...

Ok, just watched it and I have a few tips for you.

1.) Catch your toe stalls higher, most of them are around ankle level.
2.) Don't try moves like swirl, datw, whirl, until you have mastered a good amount of 2 add moves, ESPECIALLY clipper.
3.) Flipside, flipside, flipside. I didn't see one flip clipper attempt.

Other than that, looks good. You should school stuff like mirage, atw, legover, pickup, illusion, and clipper both sides. After you can hit all that consistently, try combos like clipper>ss clipper>opp clipper>ss clipper, and mirage>legover>mirage>legover.

Keep schoolin! :D

I agree with everything funklovesfootbag said. Keep it simple until you develop a rhythm and can set and catch from toe and clippers really well.

Some other drills include:
- mirage > opposite legover > repeat
- mirage > side side mirage > repeat
- illusion > opposite pickup > repeat
- illusion > same side illusion > repeat
