Need Some SERIOUS Help...

Post by Stitch n' Shred »

Alright, My bags are CRAP and I know why. What I was doing was putting the 2 panels together, making a knot, stitch 4 or 5 times, stop, tie another not, repeat a ton of times...And I've recently come to realize that thats not the right way!   ...

So anyway, I really, truly need some help on what exactly to do after I cut out the panels. I really want to learn the make good bags.
Thanks in advance, Josh.

EDIT: I also need help on the blind stitch..Ive read tons and tons of articles, but nothing makes sense..How do I do it?
( I tried the way with the loose seams too, but Istill cant get it! )

If you're sewing a 32 panel...
Put the panels face to face,
Stitch once, then knot,
Sew all the way around the pentagon (6 EVENLY SPACED, STRAIGHT stitches per seam)
Once you're ready to add the next hex, make one stitch linking the previous hex to the next,
Knot once you get back to where you started. My last stitch is always linking the hexagons together. Make sure you make good knots!

There are other threads on this too, with better explanations and pictures. Search through this forum.

Edit: Just noticed you don't stitch 32's.... Just make sure your stitches are Evenly Spaced, and straight. Knot once when you start, and once when you (almost) run out of thread, or can no longer continue with that same strand.

start off with 4 panels first... then try 6(or8)... then when your comfortable move your way up, if you want to.

I think im only gunna make 12's and the occasional 32(once a month or 2) from now on.
