Moab - Memorial Day 2007 - big tournament/music festival

Post by brian relly »

hi,

I just got a call from this guy - can't remember his name - who throws a huge music festival every year in Moab (Utah). He said he likes footbag and wants to throw a huge tournament at the event, and asked me if I would run it.
He said he would throw down a thousand for the winner. the land they're working with is 400-something acres of desert, but he said that it would not be a problem to have any surface shipped in for playing (sport court/whatever). I asked about accommodation and he said they've already got a hotel sponsor and that basically won't be a problem.

I told him I'm 16, unexperienced and have no free time. I figured the job would be better suited to someone with more money, know-how and time to run something like this (*cough CSS8thisfebruarycough*). And plus if there's a huge music festival/footbag tournament in Moab (one of the coolest places ever if you don't know) I figured I would rather go to it and compete/have fun rather than run events.
So, I gave him Steve Goldberg's number.

I'm just writing this so you guys know that there will probably be a really huge tournament in Moab over Memorial Day weekend (sometime in May). So you good players (I think he wants a bunch of pros out here) can keep your schedules clear and you tournament organizers can not schedule your tournaments that weekend.

So hopefully we see something become of this - sounds pretty awesome!

stay peace.
love,
