I disagree. The mod team agreed that there was nothing in Sam's signature that violated forum policy. Therefore, there was no reason for him to receive a PM from the mods at all. If Chris had a problem with the sig, and learned that the mods thought it didn't violate forum policy, then he should have pmed sam and asked him to modify it if he wanted to.

i think the debriefing is good. not knowing whats going on with the forum is whack. i think it should always be implemented following an oft-edited flame-war/offensive post spree/banning/whatever where it's hard to tell what actually happened. i didnt know until now.

Chris actually IMed me about this before he went on his "Vigilante" spree of posting his retaliatory comic. I tried to talk him into handling it in a civil manner but he couldn't be persuaded.

I'm trying to seperate in my mind the behavior from the person because Chris is normally a good guy. This was terribly inappropriate. 2 wrongs don't make a right. What outcome was he expecting?

I'd appreciate if this topic didn't turn into a character assassination of Chris.

If a situation like this comes up, and the moderators don't agree with you, what should you do? What's an appropriate way to publicly bring up your concerns?

I'd say they shoulld make a post in the kicking circle or discussion about it. Maybe use a poll to see others opinions. It's important to understand what the problem is. Untill Moxie explained it I had no idea what Chris was upset about or why he was attacking Emily (I still don't understand the last part . . .). The point is, nothing will be accomplished if noone knows why you're upset.

In this case, I agree with Chris. I find that signiture offensive too. I hate seeing it as I browse the forum. BUT, the way Chris handled the sitution WAS stupid and child-ish. I always thought he was a good guy. What's up Chris??

Make a thread about it in the Discussion section. Explain why you feel the way you do and what happened when you brought it up to the moderating staff.

he expected that everyone would have to agree with how right he was, and that he would get exactly what he wants, because he deserves it. You think that kind of thing when you're delusional.

you don't need a character assassination when someone commits character suicide.

As various mods advised Chris, we were about to post the guidelines which can now be found in the discussion section, and that would make the perfect place to discuss the very issue he was concerned about (which is also being discussed in its own thread in the discussion forum).

ive stayed out of every topic about my sig- so im gonna say something now that it's somewhat died down.

chris miller has personal issues with me which caused him to be a big whiny baby about this whole situation, among others. he didnt try to PM me about it, and he was only going out of his way to inconvenience me because he had it out for me from the start. hes gone to every effort to try and "get me" ever since he made homophobic comments towards me and friends of mine on this forum, (something to the effect of "go masturbate each other somewhere else" in teh "bags ive made" thread. the origins of his schoolgirl drama against me reside in a thread i made where i made a statement to the effect of "modified isnt a beauty pageant, jackasses" where he felt he needed to get "offended" by the word jackass, obviously being childish and instigational. somehow my good friend fletcher and his girlfriend, our lovely resident moderator Moxie got dragged into this. that part i cannot explain, except that i suppose chris just had way too much time on his hands, and felt that creating elaborate photoshopped versions of my sig insulting fletch, emily, and myself was a good way to somehow retaliate. the sad part is of course, that his retaliatory photoshops violated pretty much everyones privacy and made several personal attacks, were crude and unnecessary, and just a big temper tantrum because he couldnt get his way. he made himself look like a complete douche and a big whiny crybaby. if theres ANYONE who has a problem with my wonderful sig (hehehe) then let me know and i'd be glad to find something without the word "dick" in it. this comic however, reminded me of the attitudes of some authority figures i had encountered and i thought many could relate

. anyways, hit me up if there are any concerns of questions.

i should also mention i sent chris after he had stopped spewing his BS everywhere consisting mostly of "hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah", to which he responded with something to the effect of "i didnt open your PM but i wanted you to know im not going to be posting on modified anymore, i hope we meet someday, im much nicer in real life" to which i was both a little surprised and also thought to be quite gracious of him... i guess. i suppose after committing character suicide (good way to put it) and acting like a complete asshole to everyone, all he could do is throw out a quasi-apology and slink away with his tail between his legs. at least he offered some sort of kindness. oh well. i wash my hands of the entire ordeal!

Why would you single chris out with his full name and tag in the title of the thread like this emily?

I don't think it is justified... keep it to yourself or bring it up at the next bull session when the conversation runs dry
