On that day, the discounts offered on consumer goods at stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, K-Mart etc. are INSANE.
Anyways I'm planning on getting a new video camera. Ones that would normally cost $400 USD are on sale for $180 USD. Good laptops go for $350 USD. The prices, as I said are INSANE. The only drawback of course is that you have to get your ass up at 3am get over to the store and wait in line till they open at 6am but think of the deals!!
There are websites that track all of the Black Friday ads so you can see what stores are selling what at which prices. Then, well before the crack of dawn the morning of, head down to your favorite retail outlet and get the stuff you want at prices that make you feel like you're stealing it. Here are a few of the sites that track the ads:

I'm not a very possessions conscious person, but this year I want to get a video camera for Footbag, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to get a good one cheap. Just thought I would share the info. Happy shopping
