Benny Kellman goes to Israel

Post by Wasabi »

That's right, fizzied.

"The Energizer" Benny Kellman is going to Israel sometime in December. Drew Martin and I were informed about this at the Cornell Jam only just recently. In great honour of the most enthusiastic footbag player in the East Coast, we of NYFA would like to host a farewell jam dedicated to this great man who has wowed players and audiences alike with his fun strings and routines during competition.

We're still settling with the specifics of the time and place, but Drew has suggested the Sunday of December 17th, 2006. More details soon to come.

If there are any East Coast players that live approximately 4-7 hours away from NYC, it is highly recommended that you come and have one last kick for this cheerful and talented freestyler. I expect a pantheon of footbaggers around New England and Canada to make the trip. Let's do it for the Energizer, and spread the hype. :o

I have been thinking about doing this for him and now it is time to accually do this. To let him know he will be missed everyone who knows ben should try and make it. He will be leaving on the 26th so don't miss your chance to say goodbye.

I'm in. So, Drew, where are you thinking of hosting this jam? I'm thinking Dick Shea's Angel's Hide-away. I've always thought we should have a jam in there. Like, rent room 4-A (the one with its own little ante-chamber, with all the furniture and terrariums) - we could have a shred and party all at once. Is that place still available? You should call them up real soon and book it.

Thats where I was thinking of having it but Bruce hasen't got back to me yet. I think that it would be the perfect place for this little jam. If anyone else could hook me up with the number I would appreciate it.

All right date and time is set for December 16th from 6 to 9 pm, we could extend to 10 if we want. The event will be at Dick Shea's on 14th street in Manhattan. Everyone must attend or not ya know whatever you feel like doing. We're talking about doing something after the shred as well like going out to eat or to drink or both. If you have any ?'s feel free to post or pm me. more to come

This can be a great warm-up event for the Rochester New Year's Jam! People definitely need to show up so that they can shred with Benny before he leaves the states.

Hi folk

Post by The Energizer Benny »

Hi Peoples.
Yeah, It is so. I am going to Israel. First of all, I will be dedicating my energy toward developing Footbag Israel. SO yeah, this will be fun. I wont hold it against anyone for not coming to this. It is true that I am moving there for the long term, but I will back to visit now and again, though I suppose my attendance of U.S. tournaments will drop significantly. I hopefully will be visiting for Worlds. I can't wait for that one. But if any of you folk wanna come, Drew and I will make a party situation to make it worth your while.
That's it for now.

Benny,

You were a good friend to me in Helsinki, I hope whatever you do next is for the best and you have a good time.

I can't make it to NY as I have no money, but I hope your send-off is fun. :)

I really hope the Ministry of Silly Walks, Bear Feet, and maybe the RFA would drop by. I know I'm asking a bit much, but if you can make it, make it. Do it for our beloved Benny! :P

I don't expect a large jam and such. Even a short visit is feasible. The travel, even a post on this topic, can really help in giving a great send off to Benny.
