Favorite Mascots
UCSC banana slug. Apparently their mascot was originally supposed to be a sea lion, but in 1981 the students rebelled against that idea and proposed the banana slug, since it was local and environmental. The dean said the vote didn't count, because he felt only athletes should be allowed to vote for the mascot. But when it became clear that athletes also preferred the banana slug to sea lions, he gave in, and the banana slug became the school mascot.

i like the purple blob for western kentucky. i think its supposed to be "purple mountains majesty" but its a blob.
my favorite thing about mascots is being a mascot. i was the mascot for my high school... mt. juliet bears. it was totally the shit. right after i quit that (kids threw shit at me cause our school spirit sucked) i got a new mascotting job...
i was chuck e cheese for a good year. then once i had this birthday party to dance for and the kids tackled me and beat me to hell. needless to say i quit (although i got a FAT tip from the parents)

My favorite basketball website sometimes runs a feature called "separated at birth", where they run a picture of somebody in the NBA (usually a player), and then a picture of some famous celeb who looks like them in that picture (usually a rapper/movie star). I thought of this thread when I saw this:
