Climate Change: The IPCC ar4

Post by Eskimo Joe »

Hello modified.

I am a climate change coordinator in Nunavut and felt compelled to post this.

So here is a link to the latest report released by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It is called the 4th Assessment Report, or AR4.

http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf

If you are concerned about Climate Change I&A (Impacts and Adaptations), please post your concerns here. If you have a few q's, I will try my best to see what I can get to you.

Remeber, this will not go away, even if greenhouse gas levels remained contstant at year 2000 levels, warming would continue. It is our duty to work towards a future that our next generation will be able to enjoy.

This document higlights the areas where humans have contributed to the overall warming trend, and that this warming would not have occured naturally in the Earth-atmospheric cycles.

Please read, and get others to red this report as well as any information about climate change, and ways to assist in adapting to expected and occuring changes in our climate.

Sincerely,

Andrew

It's a pretty hard report to follow unless you're a climatologist - and I'm just talking about the summary report linked. I having been going through "translating" it - I work in management at the head office of Australia's largest environmental charity. Definitely worth a read though, if you care about your life, and the lives of all who come after you.
