VEGANS, VEGETARIANS, COUNTRYMEN

Yo, any people down to get a house down there and keep the kitchen kosher?

Almost ALL vegetarian food is kosher.( with exception of milk products that contain Rennet{which is itty bitty pieces of animal that sneaks its way into many non-kosher milk products.})
If you're thinking cheese, I can bring unlimited cheese from MOnsey that I will be happy to use and cook in many delicious styles for you all.

Of course, The kitchen will be open to all to use!

Vegans and Vegetarians: You are super welcome, BUT there are some vegan foods that are made with machinery that also processes meat.
Processed foods will need a Hechsher( mark that says, "I'm clean and good food{without meat}), to make sure they are not in that category.

I am willing to be chef all week. And I can cook. Well.

It will be a little complicated and I don't want to be a pain to people who are not sympathetic to the laws of kosher.

I am willing to splurge big-time to have all kosher food in the house. There is a kosher version of everything "edible" in the Universe.

MY biggest question is

1) What kind of Oven/Stovetop are we talking about here.

2) WOuld people be willing to deal with keeping the kitchen kosher. It takes work.

It seems to me that it would work better if enough Jews or Vegetarians/Vegans got together and wanted a house. Then nobody will want a steak out of nowhere and demand it and go make it.

If you others are willing to do your meat eating in restaurants and NOT bring that stuff home, then everything can work out beautifully and I will cook you a gourmet meal Every night, and we will chill out, and relax from the kicking, and the Universe will align with goodness for us.

Very tempting option since I am a vegetarian non-practicing Jew.

Johnny Superman's house looked really sweet too. I'll have to think it over. I'm 50/50 at this point.

Squid isn't kosher? I didn't know that. What a shame. On the other hand, I know that no shell-fish is, and I've got no problem with that at all. I mean, really, as a food, lobster is pretty over-rated, its just a medium for melted butter, and it totally looks like a gigantic freakin' bug. Who wants to eat a gigantic freakin' bug? Yuck.

Anyway, sign me up. I want in on the Kosher house.

By the way, it just occured to me now... Benny took 1st place in freestyle at this year's Jersey Spike N' Shred. If I recall correctly, two years ago at the first Jersey Spike N' Shred he took first place in Net. Thats pretty cool. I mean, who else is ever gonna come to my tournament and take top honors in Net one year, and top honors in Freestyle another? Nobody does that any more. Thats so cool. At first I was a little sorry he beat me in freestyle, but now that this occurs to me I'm glad he won. Go Benny!

I'm not the expert on this subject, but lots of kinds of seafood can be kosher. Any type of Shell-Fish is un-kosher, so no crab, shrimp, or lobster. Also, no clams, scallops, etc. But regular fish-fish, like tuna, halibut, trout, what have you, they're okay. I think the general rule is that its gotta have fins and scales and its okay. Salmon in particular, and carp, are kosher staples - talking 'bout Lox and Gefilte Fish baby! Just don't be mixing da meat and da milk, honey. Ya can't have animal flesh and dairy products in the same meal (there's some sort of exception, but its not often used), so no cream-sauce on the sea-bass please.

edit: learned a little something new today... aparently you CAN have a nice cream-sauce on your fish... it all makes sense to me now, 'cause previously I couldn't quite understand how a bagel and lox with cream cheese could possibly be a typical jewish food.

The house is not full yet, and I am happy to report a nice number of people are interested.

I make sushi all the time, even though I personally don't eat fish. I usually make vegetarian sushi, but all those fish Jon named are kosher.
Also the nori needs to be checked for bugs VERY WELL. bugs= not kosher. I will bring nori, and there will be a sushi fest one of the nights.

but keeping in mind the nature of sushi, the fest may be a cummulative 1 1/2 hours making, 6 minutes scarfing that shizza down.

I don't mind eating veggie for a few days or an entire week. I could consider this, but, I do like my milk sometimes. Depends if I get seriously shit drunk the night before. I have a rooming reserved with Jon Nagela, so it's a bit debateable.

So is the house jon getting the kosher house? or are you staying somewhere else benny?
