I'm no Dave Clavens...

Post by B_Man »

but I think some of this stuff is prety good.

A few big tricks and a few runs I was satisfied with, all thrown into a 4 minute video.

Footbag fun in the sun!

My own critique:

- A Scorpion's Tail was 'the', but the shot was cool so I used it anyway. If you want I'll hit a clean one for you at Worlds.
- That second single "big" trick probably could have been done better. If you want I'll hit a clean one for you at Worlds.
- I drop Far Rev. Swirl a lot. If you want I'll hit it with more consistancy for you at Worlds.

Enjoy :).

Awesome stuff, Byrin. You are amazing. I can't wait to jam with you again :) I love your surging and rev swirls... plus, yeah, I also loved those drills, like, bedwetter > parkwalk > wetdream > dimwalk [repeat], or something?

The shot was nice -- I think the green and outdoors really makes a difference in a hacky video. Nice wideangle too. Is that your own camcorder?

What was the song? I remember hearing it a lot a couple years ago.. It was really nice and really fit... I liked it. And hearing your feet patter.

thats awesome, i always love hearing the steps or the feet, im glad you left that in there. it just adds to the whole feeling of the film. one thing i want to see is more surging mid string instead of just at the beggining. i can understand though because its not exactly an easy set to do whilst keeping it clean. props on the video though i enjoyed every second.

P.S.> its even better the second time around.

Though it doesn't show in this video specifically, Byrin actually does throw surging midstring quite a bit in our sessions.

haha, I just remembered: I was trying to get him to hit rubberman with surgings and refractions instead of steppings and butterflies. It was hilarious.

Surging Mirage > atom smasher > atomic refraction > rpt

In other news, "Atomic refraction" is a sweet name.

Thanks guys, it really makes me feel good to hear such nice things. Makes me want to shred a lot more too :D.

I'm twenty years young, though I have the knees of a fifty year old :/.

EDIT - Erik, the song I used was Actium by Aphex Twin. I don't know why I chose it, honestly. I think it was just one of the first few songs that I saw when I opened my mp3 folder and thought "Hey, why not?".

I like the sounds of Lavers shredding on tennis courts, so that made me keep the original sound in the vid. :)

I can't wait to play with you at Worlds! That was a sick video. Your style is solid. Every trick you perform looks dialed to the max. I'm jealous of that last trick.
