I think our buddy J Rose is in the clear, I talked to him on IM the other day and he was still in Israel. Ironic.

Yeah, that's pretty scary.

I hope no more people died.

The major bridge in Hobart collapsed like 30 years ago (because a ship ran into it, and now when big boats go under it, they don't allow traffic on the bridge, which is pretty annoying for a 5 lane highway) so this got heaps of "comparison" coverage down here.

We heard about it on the way to football training, and were 40 minutes late, so when we got there we said; "Sorry we're late, a bridge collapsed." <_<

I would REALLY like to hear about something besides this in CNN. this isn't massive news. it's not like this is going to spark some chain reaction of bridge collapse.

Why? These are bridges, not some sort of infectious disease. I was in the store today and there was a whole crowd saying that it was a ' secret terrorist attack ' .......

But it did spark a chain reaction of cities making sure that their bridges are safe ... it's not best the thing that should have made cities inspect the bridges, but it did.

NYC has had several inspections on bridges around the city. Mayor Bloomberg states that only 3 are in bad shape while the rest are in excellent condition, but I would somehow suggest that there is more than what meets the eye.
