I suggest that you get Adidas Rod Lavers or Quantums.

The lavers are a great shoe to play footbag and are highly recommended amoung many footbaggers.

The Quantum 02's are even better but they are expensive. They are THE footbag shoe. I own both lavers and quantums and i love them both.

Reebok G-Unit G6 are really good. Get the first model, not version II or whatever. Adidas Clima Cools are also very good. Take a look through this section, there's a ton of info.

I've used Lavers, G-Units, Climas and CT520 and I liked G-Units the most.

I think those would be good for street hack. But to do stalls and freestyle Rod Lavers would be a much better investment.

Skate shoes are very, very heavy.
A really important aspect of footbag shoes is how light they are... (of course, among many other important qualities) Go pick up a Climacool 1 in one hand and an Airwalk in the other... you will know exactly what I'm talking about. The skate shoe will probably weigh about 5 times more, or more.

Go buy some Lavers.
You'll thank us.
If you go and buy skate shoes for footbag, you will only be wasting money, because if you stick with it, you will buy Lavers eventually anyway... believe me.

While the subject seems, for the time being, to be focused on weight, can anyone attest to a difference in weight between Quantums (newest version) and Lavers?

I wore a pair of my friend's Quantums for our last session and they seemed a bit lighter than my modded Lavers. Just curious as I'm interested in buying Quantums at some point in the near future.

I haven't played in them myself, but the Quantum 02s felt lighter when I was playing around with them. I actually tried on a pair briefly. Someone told me that they weigh the same, but that the weight is distributed more evenly (I think most of the Laver's weight is in the heel?), so it feels lighter.

I guess someone who actually plays in them can verify this :p

It does definitely feel like quantums are lighter than my lavers.

I would just suggest getting the cheapest pair of shred shoes you can find though, just don't get climas to start out with.

I would say that, for various reasons, getting Lavers first would be your best bet.

After hearing from Erik and Isilwar, it would seem like Quantums feel lighter than lavers. However, they'll make your wallet a lot lighter too, so if you can shred huge in Lavers, when/if you do end up getting Quantums, you'll have already been training in a slightly heavier shoe and will have no problem adjusting.

Besides, I've been shredding in Lavers since day one and still think they're incredible.
