Disgusting Foods
I've been on a food kick lately.
What are some of the foods that you perceive to be terrible?
-Ham flavored Cheetos (Mexico)
-blood pudding (England)
-maggot cheese (Sardinia)
-vegemite (Australia)
-beer jelly (Denmark)

Word. I tend to be on the other end and there are many ethnic dishes that my family makes that I've stopped eating. This made my stay in the Philippines a few years ago somewhat difficult, particularly when we stayed out in the boonies. Ironicaly, eating @ McDonalds and drinking lots of Coke got me through the day but it's not something I would do on a daily basis here.Pengu wrote:I'm Asian. We eat all sorts of things.
It's hard for me to not makes faces when I see or even hear about food I may not find appetizing. I find it extremely rude and inconsiderate when people make faces while I eat so I would not want to do that to anyone else.
Besides, I can think of better ways to piss people off

Reminds me of a story my brother told me from when he was stationed overseas, and some of his Filipino buddies got him to eat some Belu (SP? [Bell-OO]). He described to me what it was and it sounds absolutely horrible, but I can't entirely remember what it was and my stomach is too queesy right now to want to look. I want to say its bird brains or something though. I'm sure someone knows. This made my stay in the Philippines a few years ago somewhat difficult

I know alot of people who like this combo. I've also heard of Peanut Butter and Relish.I have a soft spot for a weird combo of kosher pickles and peanut butter.
Wanna hear something wh-hwack, when I was littler I used to like dipping KitKat bars into Onion Chip Dip.
Other than that, I find everything disgusting. I swear if I didn't have to, I wouldn't eat, candy excluded of course

It's not actually that disgusting, just looks like something that might be. I don't like it myself though.

Erik Chan likes something called 'pork carpet' - or, at least that's what he called it. Dry fuzzy stringy pork. Gross.

I tried to eat chicken feet a couple months ago. My brother's Malaysian girlfriend ordered them for us. The meat tasted fine.... but slurping meat off of a knuckle just doesn't sit with me @______@
I'm half Asian, so I guess I like some things and not others :p
I used to really like sardines on icecream.

for me it's tomatoes, but it's just the texture of the jelly like suff around the seeds that bothers me. i like how they taste, but the jelly reminds me of snot and that's all i can think about when i eat them.
the other is Natto. it's fermented soy beans and i first tried it in japan. i well i guess i should say i tried it for my first and last time. it looks like some one with horrible nasal congestion blew their nose in it.
this thread has made me realize i'm afraid of snot. i wonder why snot groses me out so much...
