my dental floss consists out of many small strings/threads, so I don't think I have to use 2 or more threads for stitching the bag.

My mum showed me how to single a thread but i think to diuble it for my next bag, cuz when i pull hard to make a flower 2 or 3 times the thread broke...

To stitch with only a single thread, you thread the thread through the eye of the needle and pull it through a few inches (or whatever you're comfortable with -- I think I prolly use about 6 inches-ish). You don't tie it or anything, you just keep it loose there, and hold onto it while stitching.

how would you anchor/ tie off a bag if you stitched it with only one thread? Beginning and end of a pent for example.

This seems kind of hard for me to explain without pictures, but basically you leave one side of the thread loose like Erik said, and when you get done with your last stitch (hex-hex,) you tie the 2 ends together.

If you're thread is breaking when using a single strand, it's probably not very good thread.

Personally, I only use Coats and Clark upholstery thread. You'll basically cut your fingers on this stuff before it breaks.

What would be a good way to tie it? The only way i can think of is to tie it the same way you tie your shoes, but only do the over-under, not the loop part, part 2 or 3 times.

Think of the beginning of tying your shoes, where you cross one side over the other and then cinch it down, before you make the bow.

Then repeat to make a knot (but be sure you've got the desired amount of gather, obviously...*side note, I use a battery to tighten the panels around in order to get precisely uniform gather.*)

Then make another single know, double knot, single, single, double, single, single, single. That might be overkill, but I've never had a knot come undone.

The series of singls is basically just repeating it over and over..

So its a single corss knot, then doublre it for renforcement, triple it for more, etc etc... so on and so on. ..

I used double for a loooooong time then when Peng decided to go to single I also switched.

I've never had a bag come undone and floss like.. doesn't break, you can't beat nylon!

Also, I don't use knots at all, it's sorta hard to explain.

I used to do double for a long time as well. I switched to single right after Worlds this year.

I knot and burn bulbs. Again, hard to explain.
