I heard this guy lecture actually, Dr. Gerald L. Schroeder. Author of Genesis and the Big Bang, The Science of G-d, etc.

If anyone respects the Scientific American, well, it states statistically that life on earth is impossible to have occurred randomly.

So, which religion is not logically contradicted so as to be understood in a scientific perspective?

Religion isnt based on fact, its a way to help ourselves think we know more than we do. (very poorly worded, I know)
The same thing is true of science but at least its progessing.

A few of points;

First at no point does the link you gave us say that Scientific American has ever stated that it is "statistically impossible for life to have occurred randomly." Can you please provide a source for that?

Secondly, Scientific American is a journal. It publishes the work of scientists. The scientific process works by publishing work, and then being peer reviewed after publication. A piece of work published in any scientific journal does not mean it is endorsed by that journal and it does not mean it is true.

I can only assume that you know nothing about the processes you are talking about, because the other alternative is that deliberately chose to mislead people to promote religious belief.

Thirdly, Dr. Gerald L. Schroeder has a worse understanding of physics and the big bang that I do, and than most scientists do. One only needs to read Hawking or Krauss or Tyson or any of today's modern physicists to see that the big bang is not considered the start of the universe, but the start of the "known universe" in the context that things still existed before the big bang, the nature of it is just such that we could never know. Hawking famously states that it would be ridiculous to think of space-time as anything other than circular. That means no beginning and no end.

So this person you've quoted is completely wrong in his understanding of science and you have no understanding of how science and scientific journals work.


No religions are correct according to science. It's completely false logic to ask "where are the contradictions," there's simply absolutely zero evidence to support any of them being correct. You tell me where the contradiction is in the belief of Zeus or Odin?

It is completely unscientific to believe anything without a convincing reason to do so.
