Guitalele and Mandolin

Post by Anz »

If you don't know what they are, guitalele is a mini guitar with standart tuning and mandolin has four double or triple strings, same tuning as violin.

I bought a guitalele about 1½ years ago. It's fun to play with.

I got a mandolin from my parents as a christmas present :) I've tried to play it before so I got a hang of it pretty fast.

Here I play the same song with both of these instruments:

Anybody ever played them?

I have. I play the mandolin sometimes with my dad on guitar and my friend's dad has a guitalele (I always thought it was just a travel sized guitar). His guitalele is Taylor, so it's got a really high quality sound.

I just got an actual Ukelele. I love it. Sooooooo fun, but I wish I had a Timple. It's a 5 stringed Uke from the Canary Islands.

Do you guys find it easy to start playing ukulele when you already play guitar?

I've been now playing mandolin for three weeks, here's another song I recorded today:

I sure do.

I just picked up a nice new tenor ukulele last night. It's pretty nice. I'll see if I can get a videa of the song I wrote on here in the next few days.

Ben Roscoe also plays Mandolin. He was playing at Worlds.
