5th Annual Montana Freestyle Jam - April 12th

Post by TwistedTorque »

http://mtfreestylejam.com
Friday, April 11th - Sunday, April 13th
It's two weeks earlier than our normal weekend.
Caras Park will be our venue for the third year in a row.
We will have a strong Juggling, Footbag, Breakdancing, & Fire Art representation with demos and workshops.
There will be a footbag tournament. Also, there will be a freestyle tournament where anyone can enter and are judged by how many decibels the crowd makes in reaction.
Lodging will be provided for all.
Check out the thread from last year's Jam. People had fun. I had fun.
If you went, did you have fun?

EDIT: The new Freestyle Jam website has been launched with lots of info about the jam along with a video of last year's jam. Go to the site and check it out.

EDIT: We will be hosting the Freestyle Competition this year. A competition unique to the Montana Freestyle Jam, the Freestyle Competition puts all the arts against each other in a subjective battle for the crowd's enthusiasm.

The Rules:
30 seconds in front of the crowd to do whatever you want. (Juggling, Footbag, Stand on your head and tell a joke, whatever...)
Afterwards the crowd's screams will be measured with a decibel meter.
Highest DBs wins $50.

Long as I can hook a ride in from Pocatello, ID, I'm there.

This event is the shiznite!! If you are looking for a fun spring footbag jam to go to this is it!! Missoula knows how to take care of guests, party and throw an awesome jam. I had so much fun last year, I've been looking forward to this again ever since.

I also probably won't be able to make it because of finals and projects. :(

As far as the exams go, the Missoula Footbag Alliance is an official student group and the Jam is also officially linked to us. Therefore the Jam is an official University of Montana event. You might be able to get exams rescheduled because of this. I mean, we are professionals, right?

I'll be there, or be square...

And everyone knows I hate being square because sharp corners hurt people while shredding.

Hey we should have circle comp this year. It would be a good event especially for a freestyle jam. What do you think Evan?

Done. We were pretty sure we were going to do that anyway. Rippin' Run too.
Glad to see so many of the hard core MFJ supporters posting their RSVPs w/good reviews of last year.

This Jam does not suck.

Hell Yeah! Rippin' Run has always been my favorite event

Crash Info:
Anyone can stay at our house. we have a big two-story victorian house located at 737 s 1st w.

Party Info:
The Party will be at Evan Lovely's house. If you walk straight down the side street by our house, it's less than a mile away.

Other Travel Info:
If you decide to walk, or somehow get left behind cause your taking a dump or something, the university is located down the river trail a block from our house. It's about a half hour walk.

Caras Park, the saturday event site, is also down this trail the same direction. a 15-20 minute walk.

We're thinking about trying to get bicycles donated for travel from the free community bike shop directly across the street from our house. It might not be likely, but we'll try anyway.

Nice I can't wait for this event. How about a big game of disc golf again? I might have to stay for an extra day. It always seems to go by so fast. And there's so much good beer and coach. I never really remember Montana all that well.

This reminded me of something important:
-bring a sleeping pad!

Basically all the crash space will be on hardwood floors

Oh man, why does it have to be that weekend. It's the same weekend as the green festival here in Seattle, something that I've been wanting to go to for a while and it's the first time it's in Seattle. I definitely can't miss Missoula though.

you can definatly hitch a ride with us again if you do decided to come man maybe this time our ride wont break down and we wont have to make kyle hitch hike with strangers
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.
