No offense at all, but not everybody has time to play footbag everyday. Some people post on modified on their lunch break at work, or when they're eating dinner, or as a quick break from studying. These people will naturally post more than they play. Not everybody is a high school or college student, or is willing or able to drop out of school for a semester (or forgo a difficult job) for footbag; some people can't afford to do that. If people are posting on modified when they have the option to play then that's sad, but you should be aware that for many people it's not an either/or choice.
It is simply that I feel a lot of people just talk about footbag and don't actually play. Of course I understand people are busy, of course I posted when I was hurt, its just a general idea that I feel could help people out and maybe lead to more thoughtful posts.
And would a drastic drop in posting be such a bad thing if it was replaced by players who actually hit the tricks they talk about? Would it be bad if people knew more about playing and could thus make better posts backed by experience?
a drastic increase in playing worldwide would be a great thing for the sport, and endlessly beneficial if it actually happened.
do I think it will happen?
no.
it's no mystery why people say, "talk is cheap". That's one reason why people "spend" their talking (IE: posting on modified) more so than they spend their time working hard to be a better footbagger.
in regards to ANY subject, there are a lot more talkers than doers. it's an unfortunate fact.
I'm not against your principle, david. I just don't feel it's realistic.
