Old topics exist, but I don't think any of them have posts less than two or three years old. I'd imagine that they're pretty out of date by now, what with all the mp3s, mainframes, and ram floating about. Modern times.

I'm interested in buying a camera. I've no aspirations of becoming the greatest shrEditor in history, I just want to be able to see my own game, and be able to capture stuff for online comps and the like. I also like the idea of doing those live broadcasts. I don't want to spend a whole lot. I own a computer which has USB ports. Maybe even the modern ones. Yeah, I think so.

Does this work? I think not? Nothing computery listed in the outputs?

Thanks in advance. Oh, and if that one DOES work, say so soon or it'll cost me an extra twenty bucks!

IEEE1394 is firewire which is like usb but not if ur computer has a port for it then u just need the wire.

I know i should write more but a quick suggestion off-hand: DO NOT BUY A DVD-R VIDEO CAMERA, that is, one that records the video to a disc.

i reccomend one with sd cards or one of those that has a hard drive
the hard drive ones can be exspensive but they can hold like 40 or 60 gigs

Mini Dv camera's are good

However in real terms, 60gigs of storage limits you to around 10-15 hrs (rough guess) of highest quality footage, before you have to transfer it off the drive. MiniDV is the best to go with, limiting you only by the number of tapes you have. Footage can also easily be passed between people on tape and is a robust storage medium.
