finland! - seems like im not gonna go anymore :(

Post by jaust »

hey to all those who have been reading this topic!

today i recieved a mail from the guy who's responsible for my stay in finland, he told me that the EVS (european voluntary service), the program i applied for, has been canceled completely.

the reason is the rare response the voluntaries recieved. only 1 of 15 applicants have recieved an affirmation for a voluntary service.

last week i recieved 2 refusals, so at the moment it seems not like im going to finland anymore

but nevertheless im not going to give up! i could apply a second time, but that would mean that i could not start my trip before december.
that would be shit because it would also mean that im no student anymore for quite a long while and i'd need to pay full taxes when im working...

but the guy also offered me an alternative, i could apply for taking part on a social project in denmark, it is really on short notice, but it would be a chance for me to start earlier.

as soon as i get any new informations about that big chaos, i'll let you know

regards
michi

Hello!

Nice to hear that you are coming to Finland! If you want to play footbag regularly in Finland, there's a few cities you should focus on. I assume you are interested in freestyle more. The two biggest footbag cities are Helsinki and Jyväskylä, both with big net and freestyle scenes. Other cities with a freestyler or two in or near the city are Turku, Tampere, Kuopio and Oulu. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's new players in Vaasa also.

Hoffentlich wir treffen uns in Finland! :) Viel Glück mit der Arbeitssuche!

That's right.
Pori is a bit far from Vaasa though :? , hope you get the post in Turku.

during school i involveld much in such things i call social projects, in case i mean doin things for/with children and youth.
the jobs i applied for in pori and turku sound best to me, cause they require doing lots of creative stuff, like theatre play and role games.
thats right up my alley, i participated in 2 theatre plays at school, that were really great times in my life :D
