Calf-splints?

Post by century264 »

Now I don't know if anyone has ever had a particular problem with this, but lately, I've been moving into heavily playing footbag, and for the last two sessions, I can only play for about an hour before my left calf, heel, and arch start feeling like they are being ripped away from my leg. It feels kinda like what I've heard shinsplints are like except on the back of my leg.

To give you some context, I have a condition called flexible flat foot, so if this sounds mysterious, it could be because I have a foot that doesn't work like normal peoples'

My shoes are lavers, if that makes a difference. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!

get good insoles

try not to land on your heels and play on your toes

try to land softly (easier said than done.)

consult a MD

rest

stretch

try some exercises. Spell out the alphabet in the air with your foot.

ice

eat a balanced diet with red meat in the diet twice a week or so.

always stop playing when you feel pain.

Yeah, sorry to say, but just stop dude. I had to stop for 5 months due to a stress fracture. Before that I had shin splints all the time. But now, after the break, I haven't in over 6 months. I just had to give my body time to readjust.

Lavers are what gave me the stress fracture I think. Their arch support blows. Maybe get different shoes.

do either units or quantums really have better support? because that would be a good decision in general. my foot needs that support. I'll be talking to a doctor soon about this just because I don't know if it's just shin splints and I'm being a bitch or if there's something more because of the foot being effed up too

I have never had g units or lavers so i have nothing to compare to besides running shoes, but Quantums, in my opinion, have terrible support. I am flat footed and Quantums are very uncomfortable unless i have insoles in. The insoles help a ton. I dont know what to tell you about the calf splints though. I think good shoes would help though. Hope this helps.

g units have the best support out of the 3 (lavers, units, quantums). and they look seksay too.

but they're quickly becoming discontinued.
