Needle Size

Post by Chase »

I haven't bought a glovers needle in a long time, and mine was blunted by accident. I need to buy a new set, but I'm not familiar with size.

Anyone know? something that's not gonna put too big a hole in my fabric...

Thanks

(I did a search, but couldn't find anything)

i think a size 8 is best...

im not completely sure... I'm ording a 5 pack of glovers needles soon, and it says that size 1 is the biggest for most leather work, and size 8 is the smallest and most recomended...

they also come in size 10, but you have to make special orders, i think...

so yeah, I hope that answered your question :D

i actually think that i read somewhere that size 3? is the best but dont quote me on it haha but if you still have your needle you could always try to find a local store like Joanns and just go a and compare the size
Good luck and by the way your bags look wonderful

3 might work... but I heard that you would wana glovers needle that is the size of the thread, but not too small... So, I'm not sure... They are only like $3 for a 5 pack... But I will do more reading tonight and find out :)

I appreciate the suggestions, but I have had glovers needles that were a touch too small. I was hoping someone that has stitched a million bags could just say 3 or something... Heh, oh well, maybe i'll come across a decent fabric store one of these days.
