Yesterday I started playing footbag again after more than a month of not playing. The purpose of me not playing was so that I forgot all of my bad habits about bailing and tried to focus on a more open-ended game. Last night I played for about and hour and a half and just remembered all of the things that I could do.

Today I've started drilling with a chain mail bag doing just stalls. For the next month to three months I will be relearning all of the things I practice in hopes of finding mastery. For those of you who know what my game flaws are (the things I don't do bs and some things I don't do at all, for no good reason), you might understand that I'm fighting nearly 5 years of not doing certain things, which is a hard habit to break.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who has given me support and advice in the footbag community, and I wanted to take the time to mention the ones that stick out in my mind:

About 500 toe stalls yesterday, trying to do them all with near perfect form. I did more than 120 in a row, making sure my back was straight, and I get a good stall that's close to my body, but I was using a chain mail bag and was wearing moccasin slippers. I had the idea to only play with a chain mail bag while I was practicing the basics by my self.

all with a chain mail bag

I also hit (on Sunday)

69 - Mind Bender (With a normal 32, I just had to get the set down, then the combo came easily enough)

EDIT: I realized that I also hit whirlwind first try in pants with a chain mail bag at the session on Sunday

By the way Nick, I managed to get a lot of the Chaos Green Footage and found a good number of runs from you. I need to get this DVD out soon or else it'll become toooo outdated XD

I haven't been training solo much recently, but yesterday was a group session, so I got out a real bag.

Other than that, some good long runs.

Had a session with Tom the other day, and, not surprisingly, I had a lot of fun

I hit a cool link: Fairy Atom Smasher -> Flurry into a run with double spinning muted clipper. I also had a few good runs with plenty of variety, but I felt like I was on auto-pilot most of the time.

Tom threw down some cool stuff, and has amazing form/style combination. Red and I commented that his form and floaty dexs reminded us of Vasek a few years ago. Red also had some good runs and was shredding well for the third day in a row, I think he's still getting over being sick though, so he was extra hindered. Steve "Cline Time" Cline showed up to shred and threw down, and he's so tall that he almost hit the ceiling in the living room, and when he wears shoes in the basement (where he and I both reside) he has to bend to stand. Also, Chase Card-Burns was there, demonstrating a deep understanding of the basics and even shredding some guiltless with shuffle.

All in all, very great night, Tom is so much fun to talk with and even more fun to just hang out with.

crazily, Mosher came to seattle, shortly therafter, unbeknownst to me.. I was riding my bike and randomly ran into some bikers that had just done tricks with him earlier that day!

today I went to Saturday Market because it was open on Sunday, and made $23 street preforming in two hours. After that I had another two hour session, and now I feel drained, but I also feel really good about the performance I displayed to the audience.

Only highlight I can think of is that I hit matador > Blurry whirl > repeat > P.S. Whirl first try into a decent string at the very end of the 4 hours of shred

Session highlights from Eugene trip:

Blender > Gyro swirl (first time I've ever hit gyro swirl)
P. Drifter > Nuke muted clip > Far swirl > rpt
Nuke muted Osis > Vortex > Gyro whirl > rpt
Janiwalker > whirr
Dragon set whirring dragon
nuke muted whirl > stepping ss eggbeater

I also footed food > gyro barroque, but I've hit that before so it was kind of a let down to not hit it again in front of people

But on the plus side I had a few good, long runs one of which had P. blender > Void >rpt in the middle followed by tomahawk b2b and B.W. > Spin Whirl > rpt after 30 contacts. It's good to know that I can throw some fives after 30+ contacts and still go for a bit afterward.
