While waiting for payday / Mablethorpe UK Shred

I couldn't post these in the "Bags Ive Made" thread, it felt out of place :D

Im still financially challenged til next week (PAYDAY WOOT!) and I cant wait. Already ive got a wish list of materials and Mr Sandbags (and all going well some Lavers) as long as my arm. Footbag has pretty much taken up every spare minute i can get my hands on, and ive been desperate to get practicing; desperate to the point that if its made of material, and not nailed down / being worn at the time, it gets cut up and sewn :D

I thought id pop these here for any other new people thinking to themselves "Hmm, I wouldnt mind giving this footbag lark a try". Although these two bags are possibly the worst to ever grace this fair website, it does go to show that with just a bit of time and patience, you and a couple of friends can be out and kicking in no time.

You could of course, go out and buy one, but wheres the fun in that![/img]

Ha, cool no its not that far away. Actually that might not be such a bad idea. I live in a seaside resort, big open beaches, great promenade where theres always a bit of space.... might be an ideal way of getting some more interest in footbag.

[EDIT] Crap ive planted a seed in my own head now. If we could get more people in on this, get a box of Mr Sandbags to sell on the day.... people come from all over the UK, mainliy the midlands, to here on their hols. The promenade will be full of kids who buy wiggly worms on a stick, so why not a footbag? :D This is an idea that might be worth running with...

Sounds like a wicked idea dude! I had a word with my mate Matt Bailey and hes up for coming as well, so should be able get a decent circle going! Not sure when we could do it though. Will have to wait till Matt gets back from worlds. Im not to good in the heat as well so may have to wait till the heat wave passes by!

Well, I seem to be attracting some attention among friends with the idea. Its purely speculative at the moment of course, but ive got at least 10 or so people who have said theyd at least pop along and see what its all about. With any luck, we could get half a dozen cirlces on the go :D

Ideally though I would like to have a few extra bags on standby or for sale, and I thought id first start with a plea here, to see if there are any willing stitchers who could make up some four panel bags ala Mr Sandbag, and if so what would the costs involved be?

Im not looking to organise the biggest UK jam around, but at the same time i dont want to miss a chance to promote footbag either. Whatever happens, at least you me matt and jamie (my friend) will have an absolute blast :D

EDIT : This is Mablethorpe by the way http://mablethorpe.info/ From a professional point of view WORST WEBSITE EVER... but theres pictures on there if you dig around a bit :D

you should start a new thread for this, not continue an unrelated thread in the equipment forum.

maybe a footblog if you want to talk about the goings-on of your game and the area you live in?

maybe journies to tournies if you want to plan an event?
