Old School Vasek Footage (Youtube)

Post by Abe »

Some SICK old school Vasek shred.

I'm pretty sure this is a DVD rip of NBK, so I frown upon that =[. But I thought I'd share anyways. If anyone knows where I could buy the DVD, I'd appreciate it =].

Enjoy, I sure did.

My favorite is Loren Baum's face/reaction around 2:26. He's like a little kid on christmas.

this video proves it for me

this was vaseks best time in footbag

the reason i think hes not the king of footbag anymore is because he doesnt play like this anymore. he doesnt enjoy that hes the best anymore. he doesnt just shred a dominate circles and show off links that people thought were impossible anymore and then dominate all the comps at the sametime. its almost as if its the last year he truely enjoyed footbag

that video is fucking amazing

I know what you mean, but I see it slightly differently. Here are my thoughts:

1) Elvis got fat and lame, he was still the King.
A) Unlike Elvis, Vasek has a perfect build for a man his age
B) Vasek is still holding the title, beating out all who compete against him

2) Can we really assume that Vasek is not the same? Usually the footage of him is from competitions and demonstrations where he has to be more conservative. I think if the opportunity to watch him street shredding came about now it could very well be just as good. Perhaps we should collect some money and pay him to entertain us? I am sure he has more bills than he did in this video.

3) Vasek used to be able to take more chances. He was so far ahead that he could drop and still win. These days it is not as easy. He has to play smart and I imagine that makes your approach different. It is one thing to be the most entertaining player. It is another to remain the champ.

This video is fucking amazing

vasek looked alot lighter :). The vasek klouda in black laver is da shit. I think his style start to change around 2008. His bset solid form was between 2006~2007 8) , and his golden period is up to 2005 :D

Here you have vasek when he was younger;) younger a lot :P

But I also want to say something about vasek now and vasek couple years ago ;) Now he only play. In the past he was playing and also have good fun. He was competing in every competition(routine, shred, sick and sometimes double) now he doesn't.

It's like...you learn footbag in couple of months because you devote your entire life to it..than you go to your first Euros and you win...a year later you go to your first Worlds and you win...you than win every single damn competition you enter (which is alot, because footbag is all you do) in every single discipline they can think of...along with that, you also rise the worldwide bar of high-level shred, you bust tricks and links that were thought impossible and you show the world what a perfect style looks like...you make countless video, TV and commercial apperances...you travel all over the fucking globe just to dominate footbag some more...

After almost 10 years of all that, you decide that MAYBE there is more to life than a small bean bag and you are no longer the best in the world and shredding like insane, but just the best in the world. You finally enjoy the fruits of your hard work.
And all of a sudden, people who were so used to you showing off new and new stuff, start declaring your downfall. They start to analyse every damn not-so-perfect move you make. They speculate on your demise.

Well, I personaly would say FUCK YOU ALL. I'm Vasek, I don't need to prove anything to anybody. As long as people will remember my name, I will remain the undisputed king of footbag. Now go eat a dick, I'm going to have fun somewhere else.

Ontopic, thank you for the video. Sweet sweet perfection 8)

Wow, such strong words. I pray to God Vasek doesn't have a bad attitude like that. I consider him a hero to footbag not only for his skill and contributions to the sport but also for his personality and ability to keep himself grounded after dominating Worlds six times in a row.

Anyway, great video. Too bad the provider couldn't actually rip the video directly from the DVD. I always laugh when I see someone video recording their television. It's like DIGITAL VIDEO to TV to CAMERA to DIGITAL VIDEO. The is a great degrade in quality at each step of the way.

I agree with both of you. Vasek seems to have a great attitude, and he should not care about people whining about his lack of spoon feeding us freebies. I hope he has some income from busking, etc.

I can say without a doubt that the only person I've ever seen play at an equal or similar level to the way Vasek played last week is Vasek a few years ago. He absolutely creamed the competition in circle. it was literally laughable (listen to the laughing and clapping in the last minute of his 3 minute run from circle).

someone, I forget who, told me they were talking to him just before circle, and he said he intended to do a really long first run, to force his opponents to have to stand around doing nothing for a few minutes, so they would lose their warmup.

maybe he used to shred harder, or have a different trick selection, or whatever you say, but I have never seen anyone come even close to what I saw him do in circle last week. He was hitting 6-add moves with ease after 100 contacts.

unbelievable.

I was also there to see him live in the footage in the first video from this thread ;)

vasek rules!

Sorry Kyle, I disagree with you. Vasek's world routine in 2007 was amazing (the one with mario music), and his circle with penske and jorden 8)
