Would you rather... be blind or deaf?
Would you rather... be blind or deaf?
...and why?

Deaf.
It's hard to say which you would recommend, because these are conditions in which people don't choose to have but are given regardless to their situation.

Definitely deaf, but I guess for the same type of reason that the people who say music - being deaf would still allow me to do the things that I enjoy doing the most, while being blind would make them much more difficult - sport, hiking, reading etc. Of course there are ways to work around some of these, but they don't seem to be as good as the real thing (especially with hiking).
Also being deaf would mean I wouldn't have to respond to annoying old women on busses who try to talk to you while you have headphones on and are reading a book, so it might even make my life better

Also, sign language is a beautiful way of communication, in its tactile fluidity and construction as a language without speech.
