WORLDS.

Post by jay7 »

Alright, seriously modified. Worlds 2010 talk needs to happen. The only online speculation, talk or any curiosity is in like, Boyle's blog. This needs to change.

TED FRITSCH, A BUNCH OF FINNs, and tons more awesome human beings are coming. We could say, talk about what people could or couldn't hit, who will win, who will be too hungover to compete, or ANYTHING. Shit tyrone, we could even talk about how Kebab must be replaced with Burritos this year. These are all important issues.

Who will make bap? Well, to start off that conversation, I would now officially like to make my statement, that I will pay the first bap supporters, if Juho is re inducted. This needs to happen. When it does, he will grow three sizes taller, and destroy even more.

JOHNNY, and dear Evan. Their shred can kill goats....But can they make BAP?

Papa Cleaver just won Euros, but will Vasek rise again?

Who will hit a 5 dex?

How many girls can Jon Schneider completely mind blow before the military is informed?

Little baby moses will continue to cry in his cold, wet, metallic cradle if there isn't at least a few people who want to talk about worlds.

I really want to see N.A. Represent us well this year with so many good europeans coming!

There are a few americans that I think deserve a shot at being bapped. Kyle hewitt is the main one....

I think my favorite part of worlds is the atmosphere of talking to ALL of your comrades that you normally talk to online, but face to face and in one place, its just so awesome, and there isnt a tournament like it anywhere else!

whats your favorite part of a worlds tournament?

No kebab?! What? Cancel my ticket. :P

This is my first Worlds, and I just want to learn as much as I possibly can so that next Worlds I can come back to compete and be more footbag savvy. There's still so much to learn!

Seriously can't wait to meet new shredders but also looking forward to seeing old friends, especially Suomesta! 8)

norek is a cybernetic organism. he might tear the world asunder when he faces megatron, especially with such a massive accelerator thrown in the mix. in the midst of this, the golden child will return. does super mario have the power to stop him? if only we had a destroyer...but above it all, hurtling down from space, the red rocket approaches.

i'm pretty sure california is going to collapse into the ocean.

It was going to happen sooner or later. There's only so much intensity it can take

Alright, I've done a quick scouting of the area, and here is what the main attractions are.

Culprit One: Popeye's Chicken.
Substance of interest: Biscuits.
Why?: Because they are golden, buttery, salty, and I almost just drooled on my keyboard explaining this.
Time of day to Enjoy: All day, every other day.
Distance: One block, just across some grass.

Culprit Two: La Salsa Mexican Grill.
Substance of interest: Burritos.
Why?: Kebab Replacement.
Time of day to Enjoy: Not Breakfast.
Distance: Two blocks, also across some grass, then through a mall looking thing.
Why? 2: Nearest Kebab place is in the city of San Francisco, 15 miles (24 km) away.

Culprit Three: Sweetheart Cafe and Tea
Substance of interest: Bubble Tea.
Why?: Erik Chan.
Distance: Like, 8 blocks. Erik, you better be hardcore.

Culprit Four: Peet's Coffee and Tea.
Substance of interest: Coffee.
Why?: Fond memories of doing nothing, while Matt Cross surfs the web and drinks Coffee.
Distance: Less than a block.

Culprit Five: Lucky Bloom.
Substance of interest: Flowers.
Why?: Gift for when Juho is re-inducted into BAP.
Distance: 1.5 blocks.

Culprit Six: The Pool.
Substance of Interest: Less than body temperature water.
Why?: Heat, sore shred muscles, and underwater chain mail shred.
Distance: In our complex.

No, general grocery stores are within any distance. Only vietnamese, Chinese, or Korean grocery stores. There is one place, but you need to get a (free) membership card, which, I find troublesome. So yeah. Great. Here are some that are sort of, out of walking distance.

Nature's Best, apparently it is friendly and has healthy food. Mandela Foods Co-Op Inc, also has great reviews. To get to Mandela, you pay $1,75 and it takes less than 10 minutes to get there by "BART". Nature's Best is walkable in 11 minutes, apparently.

No, heavens no. He is just so good, I think it would be appropriate if he was inducted again, perhaps with a cape.

For me, I find that there is a whole foods, a lucky, and a grocery outlet within walking distance.

There are great taverns in the area.

The trappist has the best selection of belgians in the state.

Beer revolution has the best beer selection overall in the bay area.

Souley Vegan is around the corner from Beer Revolution and will bring you food.

Pacific Coast Brewing features the best of the west coast brews plus their own.

Take the bart into downtown berkeley and visit Triple Rock Brewery where the pub food is good and the IPAX is award winning. While in Berkeley stop by Philz coffee on Shattuck at Cedar. Best coffee on the planet, made one cup at a time, exactly how you want it.

Home of Chicken and Waffle is just down the street and open till 3 or 4 AM.

Merritt Bakery is across the lake, nice restaurant, ice cream, baked goods etc. They have great chicken and waffles too.

I'd say you don't know crap about Brown Sugar Kitchen, but you already know that. Another great soul food joint from the older neighborhood in Oakland.

True Burger is in the area, best hamburgers outside of a back yard BBQ.

Golden Lotus is close by and popular with vegetarians I've lived with.

The best pizza in the area is at Pizza Pazza on Piedmont, perhaps a 20 minute walk or very short bus ride.

If you get up telegraph towards 51st, BakeSale Betty does an incredible chicken sandwich.

Blue Bottle coffee is about 9 blocks away, if you don't like your coffee over roasted. But really, Philz in Berkeley is the best, and worth the train ride each way, each day. A new level of coffee compared to all else.

Word!

On the subject of BAP, I haven't seen Mr. Will Digges name pop up, he's a BAP candidate for sure assuming he's going.

I also hope that every moment of this week is caught on film. Worship the sack 2 plz.

Bummed like hell I can't go!

My bet is like this:
1. DC
2. Milan
3. Tie between Norek and Honza

(I really need to go to tournament in the states soon)

Are people really counting out Vasek?! As I recall, his finishes since 2002 go something like this: 1,1,1,1,1,1,2,1. For you math geniuses out there, that means he's still the reigning world champ.

I love the fact that people like Damian/Dave/Milan etc have stepped up their game enough that they can challenge Vasek, but the man is still due some benefit of the doubt.
