Bwenlo, a Chinese(中国) footbagger's Blog

Post by Bwenlo »

First of all, I have to confess that my English is poor, maybe I have a Chinese accent, haha! So I hope everyone could understand the huge number of solecism I make and point it out(if you want).

Cut to the chase now...
I got my first footbag in Aug 13 2010, a 32-panel one, I was so happy.
In fact, I had learnt freestyle football for 5 years, feeled a little bored, so I think footbag is a new challege for me. The first fb vid is Vasek Kloud's King of Footbag, it's shock for me at that moment(in 2006?).
I tried to find some Chinese player online, luckly, I had already connected with some of them, but no too much.
When I get my first fb, bought from a manufacturer and player in Henan online, I start to try some tricks like freestyle footballs, it's prety different and odd, but it's funny, haha!
By now, I can do some tricks like Toe Stall, Outside/Inside Stall, Knee stall, Forehead stall, Temple stall and Back Stall. Oh, of course some kicks.
Clipper is too hard for me, my legs just stiff! How can I do for training it?
BTW, I like play fb with my TC football shoes:p

Hi there and welcome to footbag :)

A few tips since you are beginning:

- Get some Rod Laver shoes (this is really important)

- Go one step at a time, basic moves are really important

- For clippers, it's not easy at the beginning, it took me over a year to learn it both sides, I'm a slow learner. What can help you is inside stalls, and freeze an inside stall and bring it to clipper position to have good balance

Good luck and enjoy footbag :D

Welcome!
Mathieu's advice is great!
I look forward to hearing more from you. There aren't many Chinese footbaggers, which I always thought was really weird.. Kung Ho may be the closest, as I think he goes back and forth between Canada and Hong Kong (or China?). Have you talked to him? I forget his Modified name.

Pengpeng Du was also in China, but upon a moment's Facebook stalk, it looks like she's in California now. And probably doesn't play footbag.

Oh, also a guy named Mike Wiwchar from Saskatoon, Canada, is somewhere in China. His was the first footbag tournament I ever attended.

Good luck with your footbag journey!

Welcome!!!

Here is a pretty good online tutorial for clipper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGNJgqmtt4Y
"...You have to get, really, practice, like eight hours every day. Then you get good level and then you can compete....There is no money, so players are like big family and that is what I -like" -Vasek-

Hello Bwenlo

Glad to see there is a bit of a scene developing in China. I may visit China next year, it would be good to kick with some people.
