How do you buy your plane tickets?

I normally use kayak.com, and then compare against prices from the websites of airlines that are based in my town (Frontier and SW). What are your techniques? Good websites?

They claim they're Europe's #1 search engine.
600 airlines, over half a million routes, and it's free.

I almost always book with orbitz. I like the 3 day before and after flexible matrix, so you can see the best prices within the range of when you want to go. I usually check every site I can think of as well, and the price on orbitz is usually the cheapest, sometimes a few bucks from kayak. Though I always hear good things about kayak.

My dad uses bookingbuddy for europe travel. it's searches multiple sites including cheapoair, which he booked with.

I did see a cool thing recently. If you're fully flexible and just looking to go to a certain country this year - this place will tell you by month what the price will be for the whole year (maybe 2 months at a time).
