Do you remove canvas?

I removed canvas on my last pair of Lavers, but I've just got a new pair and I can't make up my mind, I don't really want to do it again.

BTW, what pros remove canvas? Does Ryan or Vaska remove?

I removed the canvas and I felt it didn't help me as much as I wished. It did help some though.

i love it removed. It feels so comfortable. And it makes ur shoes lighter. Not by much but they're still lighter.

He means he doesn't have chinese made lavers. He has older lavers, with a heavy yellow midsole. I have a pair of these still and I would not give them to anyone to use. The china lavers are much easier to play in and are better for your feet.

Ling,

Just use the lavers as they are. Later on, if you feel the need to remove them then just do it. I played with the canvas on with my first pair of lavers. I removed the canvas several months later and I could feel the bag better on my foot.

It's all a matter of personal preferance, mods are not manditory.

I agree.
When you first buy a pair of Lavers, DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE! Just wear the shoes and shred. You'll soon see what mods need to be made.

Personally, it was only after months of using my beloved Lavers that I decided to remove the canvis. And It's only last week that I actually noticed that I can feel the bag on the foot, because of it.

Now I'm concidering removing the first eyelit, to help with my Alpine sets.

But the Adidas Rod Laver is an expensive shoe! Modify only when you feel that it WILL help your play. NOT because everyone is doing it.

In support of removing the canvas however, it makes your shoes feel like a pair of sox. plus u can feel the breeze thru them, so ur feet never get sweaty

I removed the canvas form the insides and outsides, I can't think of any cons of doing that other than the time it takes. But I left the canvas on the toe box cause I feel like I get more consistent sets with it. My last pair of lavers had all canvas removed, so I've played both ways.

I am fairly sure that most pros today remove the canvas from their lavers. This excludes of course the pros wearing millenniums because that mod isnt necessary. But the laver-wearing pros prolly all do. Currently, Lon is experimenting with removing the outside mesh rather than the canvas.

I never understood the process, but Sam showed me at Vegas jam and I have since then and like it alot. It does make them feel lighter. It does make them cooler. It does make them a bit more cofortable. But I cannot tell any difference about feeling the bag.

I have only the inside surface and the top of the toe removed (I can't get the rest near the tip.)

I found that the main benefit of removing the canvis is when setting stuff like spinning. I've noticed that I can feel if the bag is coming off straight or not.

I know for a fact Ellis does. When he was here in November or so he also had changed his laces, shaved off the first eyelit, and drilled holes in the sole.

Makes your shoes lighter. Eli says it adds more cushion too but I'd have to try it before I made any decisions about that.
