I voted for option two but really a good run its whatever is good for you. I would say a run starts after three moves and beyond that its all gravy.

it also depends on whats hit. if it ten contacts of like 5.3 average then theres no need for anymore contacts.
There is always a bigger trick.

I want to be get good enough to compete in shred30, so I aim for at least 30 contacts when going for longer strings. The farther my strings are after that, the more my confiedence goes up. :)

It really depends on how hard the run is and how much variety you have. I voted for 30-40, but if the only guiltless moves you can do are butterfly, pdx mirage, osis, symp mirage and whirl - 30 moves is too long.

If it's not a question of ability then in my opinion - the longer the better.

How long should a guiltless run be? As long as you can get them, without having to bail to the same moves all of the time.

I agree with Johnny, there. The question is: What's the definition of a Good guiltless run? Or, more so, what's good to you?

For me, It would be anything around 10 contacts, but that's not to count out the fact that a 3 contact guiltless run is good for me. I think the question is relative to the skill of the player. I mean, think about a guiltless run by Vasek, compared to a guiltess run by me (of which I have not hit beyond 3 or 4 contacts). Should we both exist within the same grouping? I think not, but that's me. So a 10 contact guiltless run by me is good - for me. But for Vasek, it would probably appear pretty average, if not below.

Therefore, my vote of 1-10 is with regards to my level of play and no-one elses. Not to say that everyone else is wrong, it's just that the answers are a matter of opinion, and not a general rule.
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.

For me: 20 - 30
Becaus sometimes I hit some 10+ guiltless run, and hardly ever I hit a 20+ run ;]
