X-dex
X-dex
I don´t realise x-dex so well. Could someone explain it. I know that if trick has two full dexes in it, it get´s x-dex. Like Atom Smasher. But if trick has three full dexes in it, does it get two x-dexes? Like Warp. And what are full dexes? I know that Mirage and Illusion are. But is Pixie? For example does Smear get x-dex? Help me out.

this is how I understand it:
2 full dexes gets you and extra add: the X-DEX
Every additional full dex after that gets an extra X-DEX also.
A full dex is a mirage or an illusion.
Exceptions: a mirage set from clipper (clip > op in) does net get an x-dex.
pixies, fairies, pickups, legovers, steps and butterflies are considered NOT full dexes.
You can apply symposium to everything stated above, it still holds.
example:
atomsmasher: toe > op out > op in > op toe has 2 full dexes (a toe set mirage and an illusion). So it gets an X-DEX.
blur: clip > op in > op in > op toe has 1 full dex as the first dex (the step) is not considered full.
warp: toe > (no plant while) op out > op out > op in > op toe has 3 full dexes and gets 2 X-DEX adds.
genesis: clip > op in > same in > op in > op clip has 2 full dexes (the second and third, the first is not considered full) andgets one X-EDX add
as for X-SPIN, I'm not quite sure what it is. I think it's an extra add rewarded for inspinning. Anyone know?

Max: I think that Fairy > Op Side Component is a full dex.
Inspinning Osis have x-spin because there are two full spins.
Double Spinning Clipper have X-Spin because there are 2 full spins.
Spinning Osis don't have X-Spin because there is 1,5 full spin.

Personally I think the only moves that should get an x dex are moves that have a full dex up time and a full dex downtime. I also don't think that you should be able to mix and match the fullness of dexes to get the most adds. Ie barraging set is not a half dex followed by a full dex - it's 2 unfull dexes. A double bubba set would be two full dexes.
So Nemesis doesn´t get x-dex?Jeremy wrote:Personally I think the only moves that should get an x dex are moves that have a full dex up time and a full dex downtime. I think I disagree with this. I think it's a half dex (stepping) with the hippy part of your leg, and a full dex (quantum) with the leggy part of your leg. The lower part of your leg definitely does a full dex. Jani Walker wouldn't get x dex, because there's only 1 full dex, but Nemesis should. There's 2 full dexes in there, each leg does one.Jeremy wrote:Ie barraging set is not a half dex followed by a full dex - it's 2 unfull dexes.

This is only based on my expierince with spinning.
I think inspining should only get the extra add if you a dex in the opposite direction of the spin.
ie inspining pdx mirage- x-spin 5 add
inspining osis- no x spin 4 add , no change in momentum
inspining same SIDE butterfly(same side after the spin is complete, ie same foot catches bag)- x sipn 5 add
inspining butterfly- no x spin 4 add, no change in momentum
inspining ss mirage-(what peter Irish does alot) no x-spin 3 add, no change in momentum.
This is kind of like the swirl issue. Once you have inspining it isn't that bad. I think peter irish and allan hagget would agree with me that inspinging osis is NOT a 5 add move. However moves where you have to inspin, then stablize and/or plant, than do a move, deserve the x add
i Also think double spining doesn't deserve x spin two adds for two spins.
double inspining however, well ask Allan about that...

I wouldn't give it one. I'm not sure what the official verdict is.AA wrote: So Nemesis doesn´t get x-dex?
All the barraging sets I have seen have looked like one action to me, as does the barfly at the end. It's hard enough to be a 7 add, but the add system works on reasons - not on how hard it feels.
But with X-Spin we don't talk about change twist direction.
It's about second, third, fourth FULLL spinn... It's oficial in that way...

Are spinning momentum changes given tribute anyway ?
I think that the different spinning directions in inpinning ss torque are so fucking hard I's give them two extra adds.

by definition nemesis gets an xdex, that is for sure - similar to plasma (or fusion
) ,
true, the barraging set ( or at last mine) is one motion, but that motion is totally similar to quantum - and quantum obviously qualifies for xdex...
barraging isn't similar to pixie and stepping sets, which are the in-out ones that don't qualify for xdex...
and IMO a bubba set qualfies for xdex already -e.g. a bubba mirage like a clip set atom smasher - is as xdexy (xsexy) as it gets.
and a double bubba set

Can't speak for Pete, but I don't agree with youshreddaily wrote: I think peter irish and allan hagget would agree with me that inspinging osis is NOT a 5 add move.
Spinning osis is a four add move.
"Gyro" clipper is a 3 add move because you get an add for the "spin" involved. The spin in this move is the same degree of difference between spinning osis and inspinning osis.
I consider Inspinning Osis a 5.
Would I be repeating myself unnecessarily if I mentioned again how little I care about adds? Call Inspinning Osis a 2 add move for all I care

Not as such.Shredster wrote:Bubba set would get xdex, wouldn't it?
Think...from right clipper, left leg under then over...xdex.
A set cannot get x-dex all on it's own. An X-dex is built from at least two dexes.
This bubba set move would get an x-dex
Clipper set Atom Smasher.
clip > op out > op in > op toe.
In adds it would be clip > op out [1] > op in [1] > op toe [1] > x-dex [1]
Note that the x-dex is completed after all the necessary requirements are fulfilled.
