Sick 03 DVD

Post by max »

Yesterday I purchased Sick 03 on DVD.
Here's what I think:
- The interface is really sweet
- There is a scene selection menu and this is where sick 03 really gets interesting. It is a very long video (80+ minutes of just shred) and can be a bit of a mouthful to watch in one straight sitting, being able to select what player profile you wish to view is fantastic.
- The Credits section is very well done, and you can find mail info on the producers and all groups who did the music.
- There are a couple of bonuses mostly routines (Vasek's final and semis, Ryan's final, Yacine's final etc..) + a couple of other short clips.
- The cover + 2 page booklet + DVD print are also REALLY nice.

GET IT. :)
I think that Planet footbag (www.planetfootbag.com) will be selling the DVD version shortly.

Will they be shipping to the US or are there going to be US "distributors"?

I have no idea.
The two distributors I know of are planetfootbag in Germany and a Japanese distributor. I don't even know if planetfootbag delivers in the US (they probably do, it's worth a mail to find out).

hmmm.. I can ask them to bring more, but it's pretty difficult estimating what the on-site demand would be.

I'd say you can figure on a bare minimum of 500 freestylers this year I would think so that's 1 video for every 10 people. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that those will sell out quickly.
Of course there is also the unknown of how many other people will be bringing fresh videos.
Tough call I guess. I'm just going to have to hunt them down on day 1.

woohoo!
i got my copy (and 3 other ppls) of SICK03 on Thursday. soooo awesome!!
its 82 minutes long which is just excellent, the editing is really really good with cool special fx and stuff, the footage is of awesome high quality and the shredding is wicked. it would have been nice to see some more slo-mo i guess, but there is some slow sections at the end of the players clips so thats probably enough. i thought maybe some players clips could have been longer, like ken's one... but maybe this comes down to the amount of useable footage etc
vasek gets about 20min of footage to himself so thats great..some other noteable sections are Ryans (good to see some more of him), Ondrej Skrabal (seems to hit some pretty long runs, hope to see more of him soon)... some ken S on there too which is great.. honza was sadly absent though

the music is good but didnt get me sort of hyped up like The Move did... its great having menus and bonus material too... very high production quality on this dvd... and it played almost flawlessly on my dvd player which is a feat in itself!

all in all, incredible dvd, the best production ive seen...awesome hardcore shred, great extras.. bomb

Yeah, I totally agree with the music. A few songs were REALLY moving though, especially the song during Felix' section. I thought Sunil's section was the most fun. I loved that intro. And Ken's was cool, too.

Where are you North American players getting this DVD? I want to buy Sick 03, Champions League, and a handful of Mr. Sandbags, and I'd like to be able to do it all in one shot, if it's possible.

why can't sick 03 be played on DVD players? I bought mine at worlds, hoping I can see it as soon as I get back, but it doesn't work. I was told you have to use your computer, but mines so old I can't even play DVD's on it.

It can be played on DVD players, just not on certain types.
